This was such a disappointment! I admit that I couldn’t get past the first chapter. Dull and boring.

Could Not Finish - Narration
Revisado: 02-03-18
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Prayer Box?
As an Audible member for at least 15 years, I base a lot of my purchases on reviews and ratings from other readers. I loved 'Before We Were Yours' - although it was disturbing, and I'm sure this book is a very good read, however, I absolutely could not listen to the narrator. Her inflection faded so much at the ends of most of her sentences that at times, I couldn't understand what she was saying. I tried for hours to listen and re-listen but could not do it. I returned it and bought the kindle version so that I could read it. I wanted to provide this feedback so badly that I actually purchased the audible version again.

This was my first book by this author but it will not be my last. Kept my attention to the very end. The excellent narration made each character come alive.

Any additional comments?
I have read 8 or more of Karen White's books so far and I could write the same review about each of them. Wonderful plot that has depth and mystery to it - not just fluff - and fairly unpredictable. Each character is very intriguing. Signed - huge Karen White fan!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The plot as well as the characters in this trilogy kept me interested from start to finish. Monroe has the uncanny ability to put the 'reader' at the beach. As a Southerner who loves the beach, I completely enjoyed her descriptive narrative. I typically do not enjoy an author who does their own narration but in Monroe's case, she always does her books justice. She adds just enough dramatic flair to make them believable but not over the top. Great job. I can't wait for her next series.

Tiresome At Best
Revisado: 05-12-15
What disappointed you about The Marriage Game?
One of the primary reasons that I love Allison Weir's books is because a lot of the content is based on historical data. However, 'The Marriage Game' was redundant to the point of boredom. If this was based solely on historical data, a little more fiction could have made it more interesting.
Would you ever listen to anything by Alison Weir again?
Of course, I will listen to Alison Weir again.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I feel that the narrator was overly dramatic at times. Bring back Roslyn Landor!
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment.
Any additional comments?
Still a huge Alison Weir fan. Just not impressed with 'The Marriage Game'.

This had the makings of a good book but the plot was very weak/shallow. I understand the struggles of this family but for goodness sake, give the readers something to hold on to.
Emma Galvin's narration was the only reason I finished this one. Good job Emma.
