Epictetus (c. AD 50-135) was a former Roman slave (he was also lame in one leg, and walked with a crutch) who went on to become a great teacher. This rendering is all the "self-help" you will ever need. Ancient wisdom that is as applicable today as it was the day it was first spoken by Epictetus himself! I listen to this version while walking my dog. I find that every time I listen I hear something new. With each listen, I gain more perspective on what is truly in my power.

I knew very little about mandela or South Africa prior to this book. Mandela is truly inspiring!
