Historia
Kate Ballantyne's life was cruising along very nicely. No highs. No lows. Just the way she liked it. She had a good job and a casual relationship. Then Patsy Maclean had a 60th birthday and Kate learned her entire family would be attending the party, including her younger daughter, Ashley. As an orphaned 10-year-old, Kate's young life had been turned upside down when she was sent to live with her aunt in the historic gold mining city of Charters Towers. For the quiet and lonely Kate, the extroverted Ashley Maclean had been her salvation.

I really enjoyed this book
Revisado: 12-17-24
This story was simple, and in some ways I think that's what made it feel special. This will just be a book that you read to feel good about life. It has its painful moments, but the high moments make it worth it in the end.

Slow start, but glad I stuck with it
Revisado: 07-07-24
narration was lacking. no inflection of tone. the internal dialogue is a little heavy, and sometimes it felt like there was too much description in the scenes. nonetheless, the story is heartwrenching and the overall takeaway is that this is a great book. i enjoyed reading it once I pushed through the beginning

Historia
Free-spirited and easygoing Taylor Vandenberg left her hometown of Faircombe, Tennessee, as soon as she could, and in the twenty-five years since, she has rarely looked back. She wouldn't change anything about how her life has turned out—having traveled to nearly every country, never staying anywhere long enough to feel stifled. Brooke Watson has known Taylor for her entire life, and lifelong knowledge means that Brooke knows she's trouble: irresponsible, takes nothing seriously, and irritatingly attractive.

I really liked this book. It surpassed my expectations, and those two main characters pulled me in and held me until the last page. I missed sleep reading this book!

Historia
The gym is Lizzie’s life—it’s her passion, her job, and the only place that’s ever felt like home. Unfortunately, her bosses consider her a glorified check-in girl at best, and the gym punching bag at worst. When their son, Lizzie’s best friend, James, begs her to be his plus one at his perfect sister Cara’s wedding, things go wrong immediately, and culminate in Lizzie giving a drunken pep talk to a hot stranger in the women’s bathroom—except that stranger is actually the bride-to-be, and Lizzie has accidentally convinced her to ditch her groom.

She tracks her target into the magical lands of the Fae, but Faeland is not what it seems—and neither is the Shadow. Keera is shocked by what she learns and can’t help but wonder who her enemy truly is: the King that destroyed her people or the Shadow that threatens the peace.
