Historia
The quiet of a Texas night is shattered by the sounds of screeching brakes, crumpling metal and, most shockingly, rapid gunfire. The auto accident Jack Ryan Jr thought he witnessed turned out to be a professional hit. Jack may be too late to save the victim, but he’ll be damned if he’s going to let the hitters escape justice. He’s got just one lead—a meeting the victim was going to. When Jack shows up instead, he’s drawn into the seedy underbelly of a small Texas town and the cold case of a college student who vanished from its streets.

Love the series

Another good one but, to me, lacking some depth and story development. Would have enjoyed a more detailed description of the final event leading up to the destruction of the nuclear facility.

Historia
In Washington, D.C., where little stays secret for long, the identity of Deep Throat, the mysterious source who helped Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein break open the Watergate scandal in 1972, remained hidden for 33 years. Now, Woodward tells the story of his long, complex relationship with W. Mark Felt, the enigmatic No. 2 man in the Federal Bureau of Investigation who helped end the presidency of Richard Nixon.

Just excellent

I lived through these events during my lifetime. I have great respect for Mark Felt and what must have been a very difficult path for him to navigate, and equal respect for Bob Woodward for being a stand up guy in his treatment of Mark Felt.

I heard Admiral McCraven a few months ago on CNN discussing an issue and noted his book. It’s excellent. I have a number of people in mind who will really enjoy reading his book and plan to make a gift of it. Our political leaders could take a lesson too.
