Historia
At the end of The King’s Witch, the first book in Tracy Borman’s Stuart-era trilogy, Frances Gorges was pregnant with the child of her dead lover, Thomas Wintour, executed for his role as a conspirator in the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. Now, in The Devil’s Slave, Frances is compelled to return to the dissolute and dangerous court where she has been suspected of witchcraft.

As good as book 1!
Revisado: 03-16-20
You can't always say it, but book two was as good as book one! my only regret is that I stumbled upon this series before it was complete. Now I must wait for book three.
I love historical fiction and am extremely critical of it. However, Borman paints such a vivid world full of believable characters. I highly recommend this book and the previous The King's Witch.

Historia
New York Times best-selling author Philippa Gregory presents a new and unique view of one of history's most intriguing, romantic, and maddening heroines. Biographers often neglect the captive years of Mary Queen of Scots, who trusted Queen Elizabeth's promise of sanctuary when she fled from rebels in Scotland and then found herself imprisoned as the "guest" of George Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury and his indomitable wife, Bess of Hardwick.

Great story but lacking in the performance
Revisado: 12-10-18
I loved the story, but the performance, especially when compared to the rest of the series, is lacking. The volume also fluctuated frequently making it annoying and sometimes painfully too loud to listen to with headphones.

Historia
"Yaqui Delgado wants to kick your ass." That’s what some girl tells Piddy Sanchez one morning before school. Too bad Piddy doesn’t even know who Yaqui Delgado is, let alone what she’s done to piss her off. All Piddy knows is that Yaqui hates her - and she better watch her back because Yaqui isn’t kidding. At first Piddy just focuses on trying to find out more about the father she’s never met and how to balance honors courses with her job at the neighborhood hair salon. But as the harassment escalates, avoiding Yaqui starts to take over Piddy’s life.

Revisado: 10-05-16
While this book is meant for young readers, I was assigned it is an easy read for one of my University classes. I truly enjoyed this story and recommended for both adults and young adults! the story reflects a situation that is be true for many young adults.
