Historia
China is killing Americans and working aggressively to maximize the carnage while our leaders remain passive and, in some cases, compliant. Why? If anyone could crack the code, it’s the renowned nonpartisan investigator Peter Schweizer. Schweizer’s previous three number one New York Times bestsellers sent shock waves through official Washington, sparking FBI investigations and congressional probes that continue to this day.

Probably a good book, but a bad narrator
Revisado: 04-01-24
I’ve seen the author on quite a few videos. I like him and I think he should have narrated this. But he didn’t. The way this narrator says several words makes him sound like Trump. I don’t want, need, or can stand to listen to a book narrated by Trump. Anyway, I will probably buy the book. But this Audible is very annoying.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Perfectly paired with a cold lemonade
Revisado: 08-12-22
I’m writing this review roughly, I think, two years after listening to this book. It isn’t my typical read. I’m about to retire from the military, I’ve been all over the world. I usually only read/listen to non-fiction. If fiction, it’s typically a classic or historical fiction.
This book was not what I expected when I started. But, wow, I fell in love. The story was incredible, as was the narrator. The end is an excellent touch.
If you want to relax while also hearing a great story — take a chance and listen to this book. You won’t be disappointed.

While investigating Blackston’s recent activities, FBI Agent Jeremy Winter stumbles upon a string of missing persons within state parks. As the clues mount, a dark figure from Jeremy’s past emerges with an ultimatum - one that could force him out of the bureau. Afraid that his girlfriend, fellow agent Maggie Keeley, will be dragged into a high-stakes political game, he delays his decision.

I enjoyed it! Just have to get through the beginning
Revisado: 01-06-21
I was about to delete this book due to the poor production quality at the beginning. But that was resolved within the first hour or so. After that, all was done well. The story is good, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Historia
Call Me by Your Name first swept across the world in 2007. It is the story of a sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents' cliffside mansion on the Italian Riviera. During the restless summer weeks, unrelenting but buried currents of obsession, fascination, and desire intensify their passion as they test the charged ground between them and verge toward the one thing both already fear they may never truly find again: total intimacy.

Probs decent, with the worst performance
Revisado: 03-22-19
This book could be decent, probably even good. I might enjoy it if I just read it papaerback. But this narrator is horrible. He’s so slow, negative-sounding, and completely boring. Like to the point of just completely depressing me. I get depressed listening to this recording. And this isn’t a depressing book. I would def recommend this narrator not narrate any more books.

Too slow
Revisado: 12-29-18
At the last third of the book, it became interesting. It was a drudge getting through to that point. I read and or listen to about 70 books each year, and never say this about more than one book a year.

Historia
After the end of World War II, General George Patton declared that artillery had won the war. Yet howitzers did not achieve victory on their own. Crucial to the success of these big guns were forward observers, artillerymen on the front lines who directed the artillery fire. In Bracketing the Enemy, John R. Walker offers the first full-length history of forward observer teams during World War II.

From a current Forward Observer (0861/13F)
Revisado: 12-27-17
I’m absolutely thrilled to have found a book dedicated to the Forward Observer (FO). For 16 years, I have served in this field as a Marine and as a Soldier, including tours in South Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I’ve served at levels from platoon to Division.
This book does an excellent job at detailing the evolution of our profession. We often refer to ourselves as the ‘red headed step children’ of the infantry, and it seems our work is often overlooked.
This book is well-worth the listen. A modern FO might be disappointed. It’s apparent the author and/or narrator didn’t consult a current FO. My fellow Artillerists, you must forgive. It is worth the gratification that we now have a book dedicated to the efforts our FO brethren performed in the past. I’m hopeful more will follow.

The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Such a confusing timeline
Revisado: 05-23-17
It's and audio book, so I can't flip back pages to figure out what's going on. The story is narrated by three characters with three distinct timelines. This should be explained up front so the listener isn't left confused for the first half of the book.

Probably a great concept, but way too much fluff
Revisado: 04-02-17
Well-performed, well-spoken -- but the author says the same thing 30 different ways, like she's trying to fill up pages/hours. I'll keep an eye out for a version that's less than 60 minutes.

Historia
Andrew Roberts' Napoleon is the first one-volume biography to take advantage of the recent publication of Napoleon's thirty-three thousand letters, which radically transform our understanding of his character and motivation. At last we see him as he was: protean multitasker, decisive, surprisingly willing to forgive his enemies and his errant wife Josephine.

Eye-opening Counterbalance
Revisado: 05-27-16
Truly fascinating, and painstakingly researched. Well-performed. Most importantly, a balanced and fair representation of Napoleon. Sheds a light much different than has most of the historical works on this subject. Delightful and informative, a 'must-read'.
