Historia
Every generation, a journalist has looked deep into the heart of the nuclear military establishment: the technologies, the safeguards, the plans, and the risks. These investigations are vital to how we understand the world we really live in—where one nuclear missile will beget one in return, and where the choreography of the world’s end requires massive decisions made on seconds’ notice with information that is only as good as the intelligence we have. Pulitzer Prize finalist Annie Jacobsen’s Nuclear War: A Scenario explores this ticking-clock scenario.

Historia
Using academic, comprehensive, logical, and, at times, mathematical approaches, The Science of Weird Shit convincingly debunks ESP, communicating with the dead, and alien abduction claims, among other phenomena. All the while, however, French maintains that our belief in such phenomena is neither ridiculous nor trivial; if anything, such claims can tell us a great deal about the human mind if we pay them the attention they are due.

Cards on the table, I don't like British accents anyway, but the narration is unbearable and killed this book. It was condescending and sparky. I just can't listen to this again.

Probably one of King's weirdest and darkest stories. Very psychological. But also a great story about survival. In a way, I likened it to The Raft. Go Trump!

Trained as an evangelical Bible scholar, Peter Enns loved the Scriptures and shared his devotion by teaching at Westminster Theological Seminary. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME!!!!
Revisado: 05-13-24
I have recently been super stressed and confused about so many of the contradictions and brutal, barbaric stories in the Bible. Believe it or not, the Bible was actually killing my faith! I felt I was the ONLY person on Earth that felt this way!! Nope, it's not just me, and it's not just you!
This book is a humorous, informative, and inspirational explanation of why the Bible CAN'T be read literally, as I had mistakenly done. There are so many historical, cultural, and linguistic arguments that argue against it. I needed this book at this time in my life! Thank you, Peter! You've saved my sanity!

On June 22, 1941, he accompanied his division to Lithuania where he experienced the catastrophic first day of Operation Barbarossa. He later witnessed intense clashes during the conquest of the Baltic islands and the battles leading up to Leningrad on the Volkhov and Lake Ladoga.

The Author Despises the Czechs
Revisado: 11-30-21
Skip the first 45 minutes: it's nothing but bashing the Czechs and other untermenschen. Once you get passed the Germans good / Slavs bad whining, it's a very good story. The author deserved his time in the camps in Siberia.

Historia
The definitive investigation into the greatest aviation mystery in history, with a startling hypothesis about who took the plane, where they took it, and how. On March 8, 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared. A year later, still no trace of the plane - or the 239 people onboard - has been found. But why? In The Plane That Wasn't There, science journalist and CNN aviation analyst Jeff Wise sweeps aside the conspiracy theories and misconceptions and lays out, with clear concision, just what we know about the plane's fate - and what we don't.

Historia
Most of the vast audience attracted to the subject of Dracula know him only in his fictional, one-dimensional form: vampire. Yet the truth behind the historical character - voevode, warlord - of 15th C. Romania is at least as equally fascinating as any contrived account of his supernatural persona. Vlad Dracula faithfully follows his life story as hostage, fugitive, prince, and prisoner, as well as his legend.
