good but aggravating

VA was good, story not my usual cup of tea but enjoyed the drama from start to "finish" really makes you want to strangle one character and with how this book finished, the author XD.

loved the spin on the "pacifist" MC, he made himself a non combat type and stayed that way (many Crafter turned genocidal adventurer out there). would've loved a few more post Jackson poof content before the epilogue for a bit more fluffy cinnamon roll goodness but can't have tomuch sugar I guess. also loved the dwarf dad and shark daughter dynamics, tbh I think you could do a bit of a "darker" side book about Wayne. he's got alot of implied baggage and glory waiting to be unpacked in his own series.

the ending while seeming rushed was well paced rush that fully fit the story which is not all that common in litrpgs I've found. but some things would've been nice to atleast include in epilogue like finding a way for blue to achieve a body (or arcanatech artificial body) and end it off with a damn hug, as seriously only sexual affection as physical affection has got to suck for somany years. also would've been nice to see a bit about the trait combos/lines that were teased but discarded.

good play on mental fortitudes. but didn't like the ending.

was an interesting read. a mix of survivors guit, savior complex, obsession, primitive archetypes (breeder/caregiver, warrior, wiseperson) and cultural clashing with a nice hint of paranoia and profiling.

the last interaction with the antagonist was a bit... stupid. I know he's an grizzled old man but he made a massive error in judgement. he already profiled a mental instability case and approached them head on putting them in to a panic. his years of work with police and homeland would've had him approach the stable minded first through a phone call and an arranged meeting as he already determined it a high accuracy that the situation wasn't an outwardly or imminent danger.

as for the psychological trauma situation at the end, I see the reason but as above seemed a bit forced and needless in a way. the trauma problems was switched between charachters but was so late in the book that it's just a thing now without substance. while the epi seems to just be kind of a funny offhand cliffnote sendoff.

many irritations.

several time inconsistencies. several past plot info inconsistencies (some given then forgotten in same chapter). and several power "adjustment" delemas. several times MC had skills tailor-made for situations but are forgotten. speedster villain? blood magic. rampaging **spoiler**? blood magic. dozens of enemies with warlike ROE? slow time and stab people in the spine/neck. don't want to kill? bash them with pommel or zap them. I know it takes away from action-packed sections, but you are already taking away much of the essence of the fight when the readers are irritatedly screaming, "Use X skill already and move on!" also... what happened to his interrogation quest that would reward him with the skill scans? what hole did that fall out of?

first 3 books were good but this one makes me a bit worried about the next book.

Enjoyable listen.

loved most of the story. some of the adaptation prossess choises that were made did make me questionable, but I think that's more to do with my own mental understanding being unable to prossess what it would be like to have the stacked issues of culture shock, depression, issolation (an unstated underlying issue brought up as comments of returing to civilizatio), crisis of self, and being a female soldier (or a soldier in general) in a new sexually free environment.

the story to me is quite enjoyable, but some aspects were a bit grating on my nerves (for example: talking nonsense when surrounded by an enemy army). and one aspect of all 3 books that's been itching at me. Anastasia, is this adorable ball of nerves ever going to stop being mascot/pet type because in my opinion, a few of the MCs' choice of wordings after hard situations alienates her severely from the group dynamic. and also the item stacking on MC was a bit iritating also. the daggers and the cloak are perfect for the adorable bundle of wiggling nerves as she provides as the groups role of a strike scout, the camo plus several throwable daggers was a greatly missed strategic opertunity to expand on her role in the team.

good series with a few hiccups.

the narrating was done well. the series was entertaining. but a few things did leave me wanting. the first instance of twin life core would've been nice. the use of the masterwork version of the seed would have also been nice as it seems to have been completely forgotten or was intended to just be a tease never meant to be used (had to charge it with I think 1000 soul tokens.) the thread of throne breaker I suspect to be the "topic" of the next adventure in the series as the implication was slapping us but not sure if it came to full maturity. all said, looking forward to more in the future.

loved it, but some minor disappointment.

was well done in my opinion, good balance of drama and some sappy romance (though I will agree with another reviewer that some of the early bit of romance is a bit forced at speed (2 days and jealousy ensues) but personally didn't mind. though I was disappointed that the concept of necromancer farmer was only used once and for a "pet". had quite a bit of potential for interest like the portrayed cover art, there was no skeleton farm hands or horse for field work.

was decent, but there are many glaring MC plot holes. a hunter that forgets how to track. a modern soldier that forgets how to properly ambush. and a sea dragon kin that forgets he swims like a dolphin.
