Historia
In John Scalzi's re-imagining of H. Beam Piper's 1962 sci-fi classic Little Fuzzy, written with the full cooperation of the Piper Estate, Jack Holloway works alone for reasons he doesnt care to talk about. Hundreds of miles from ZaraCorps headquarters on planet, 178 light-years from the corporations headquarters on Earth, Jack is content as an independent contractor, prospecting and surveying at his own pace. As for his past, thats not up for discussion.

Historia
Surrounded by her children, her extended family, and what seems like half of Colleton County, a semi-conscious Rachel breaks weeks of pained silence with snippets of stories as randomly pieced together as a well-worn patchwork quilt. But the Knott family's joy quickly gives way to shock: less than an hour later, Aunt Rachel is found dead in her bed, smothered with a pillow. Who would kill a woman on her deathbed? Was it an act of mercy, or murder?

Needs a Narrator, not a Reader
Revisado: 06-21-24
I have followed this series since the first books, but this is the first one I've had on audiobook. It's cool that the author reads the book herself, but she makes no effort to differentiate between voices of characters at all. It's much like having your grandma read you a book - not the same as having the book narrated - and it's easy to get confused about which person is which, because the Knott family is humongous, LOL.

Have you ever walked home at night, keys in hand, ready to throw a punch in self-defence? That’s how it all started. The killing spree, I mean. I sort of tripped into this role. Literally. The first one was following me. That guy from the nightclub who wouldn’t leave me alone. I pushed him, he stumbled, and fell onto his own broken wine bottle. Oops. It was such a waste of a good house white. But now I can’t seem to stop and nor do I want to, I’ve got a taste for revenge and quite frankly, I’m killing it.

Historia
Gaia is dying. That, at least, is what Dr. Lionel Scott believes. A renowned expert in tropical and infectious diseases, Scott has witnessed the devastating impact of illness and turmoil at critical scale. Society as it exists is untenable, and the direct link to Earth’s death spiral; population levels are out of control and people have allowed disarray and disorder to run rampant. While most are concerned about deadly disease, Scott knows that it is truly humanity itself that will destroy Gaia.

excellent book
Revisado: 04-30-24
Will Wheaton is great as a narrator, but he does need to work on character differentiation. there were so many times throughout the book, where there were conversations between multiple characters, and I could not tell who was talking because he did not change his voice much, if at all. He would start out a character speaking with an accent, and lose it halfway through whatever the person was saying.
having said that, the book is great. It's the first thing I've ever listened to from this author or narrator, but probably will not be the last. highly recommend!

Historia
Three years ago in a large Victorian house on the Jersey Shore in the town of Harbor Haven, fledgling private investigator Paul and his client, Maxie Malone, were murdered. Since then, recent divorcée and reluctant ghost whisperer Alison Kerby and her 10-year-old daughter, Melissa, have moved in and converted the place to a guesthouse, where Maxie and Paul are now checked in for an eternity and ready to solve any case that comes their way - or at least spook the guests (who love it). Alison’s got a lot on her plate at the moment, however, so when Paul discovers the 300-year-old ghost of a small boy in the house, he decides not to involve her in the case.

I've had the other books in this series on Audible, and they were MUCH better than this one. I couldn't even finish it. The reader makes the characters sound stuffy and formal, which they definitely are not.

Historia
If it’s navel-gazing you’re after, you’ve come to the wrong place; ditto treacly self-examination. Rather, his observations turn outward: a fight between two men on a bus, a fight between two men on the street, pedestrians being whacked over the head or gathering to watch as a man considers leaping to his death. There’s a dirty joke shared at a book signing, then a dirtier one told at a dinner party - lots of jokes here. Plenty of laughs.

I love Tracy Ullman, but she did not belong here.
Revisado: 08-02-22
these are David's diaries, and at the very beginning they tell you that he chose to have Tracy Ullman Reed parts of the book because she's good with different accents. however, I much prefer for David to just read himself. he doesn't have to try to do fancy accents, he's funny enough as it is. having Tracy interrupting messed up the flow.

I almost quit this book several times bc the author has drawn out the build up to the meat of the story just way too much, but the end was good.
