I read the first book last year and wanted to wait until both audiobooks came out so I could listen to them back to back. Absolutely wonderful. Entirely captivating.

Hidden gem! Great new spin on vampire tales.

I listened free on KU w/narration and I’m so glad. I haven’t had the best luck with KU w/narration books so my hopes were very low expectations going into this story. It was a fantastic story and the narrators really brought the characters to life. I can’t wait for book 2.

Great performance, too long of a listen

Did not have enough story plot for 18 hrs, could have been great cut in half or added a ton more drama. I sped the track up and skipped 30 sec on a bunch of parts. And the sad thing is, I didn’t miss anything, the story was very surface. First 2 books were much better which is sad bc they had this whole trauma bonding plot, but it was never really deepened.

Secret assassins, bodyguards, and kink- oh my

Read Salt in the Wound first!!!! You learn about Isolde and that deepens your background of characters while you hear the story of Mark and Tristin in this story. This story is in the same universe as Camelot series, and the same vibe more so than her Priest stories. This is a story about trauma, finding how to cope (in a kink club of course), and falling in love (with multiple people). This is a MF and MM romance.

I made it through 2.5 books of Lady of Darkness series, it was good, then great, and then finally I got bored with the tepid MMC and ended up DNFing the series. I was TOTALLY hesitant to start this series and I am so glad I got over it because the book and series so far is AMAZING! I was in a total reading slump, just couldn't land a great fantasy series after many failed attempts.

In the audiobook Tessa is played with a posh British accent (while the rest are American) and it fits the story really well. I am not sure I could categorize this series as romantasy since there is very little romance or spice, but great tension. The storyline is great and as someone who LOVES series progressing 3-5 spice level, the lack of spice was just fine because the tension and 'will they/wont they' was fabulous!

Not funny or witty like Dark Romeo

I am about 75% of the way through and I honestly have a really hard time finishing it (via audiobook).
About the story: I loved the Romeo and Dallas story, thought it was funny, witty, deep, and saucy. Because of this, Z's story was an autobuy. This story is not at all the same vibe as book #1. I felt like the only humor happening was Ollie VB and his outlandish antics. Zach is a very stern guy, purposefully hardened bc of his trauma. So yes, he has VERY dry sarcasm when it comes to his friends and his tolerance for Fay. Fay equally has some very sad events, so by nature she isn't charming or witty. It makes for probably the perfect couple, but not fun to listen.
About the narrators: I am not here to dog on Mr. Cloverdale, because he is a good performer, however he was not a great choice to play Zach. Desmond's voice sounds much older than Zach's around 30 years, so it was hard to get into it. The character doesn't have enough witty or funny dialog to pull of the mature voice and it just amplified my above issues with thh story :-/

Bamboozled by booktok - best for young teens who’ve never read a fantasy book

I really thought I had done my due diligence to make sure this book was truly a good one. I was wrong. I am an avid fantasy reader and although I try to stay away from trial/game type fantasies, I thought I would give it a chance. The book moves so slow, it’s boring, but at the same time, you never get to know any characters well enough to care about their POV. this book is a bunch of beginning plots and beginning characters smashed into one book. Never spending enough time on anything to care about the story or the relationships. I think this is an editing error, not necessarily the author.

A book you don’t want to end

I loved Megan Wick, she was the perfect Miller. Usually I adore Alex Kydd, but I am sad to say, his voice style in this role was a bit ‘young’ for how serious Kei is. It was sometimes distracting because I’m not sure Alex could ever sound grumpy, but Kei is kind of just a grumpy guy.

I knew 10% into this book that I didn’t want this story to end and I found myself bummed the closed I got to the end, bc it’s such a good story. Have your tissues ready, this one will pull at your heartstrings. As someone who currently has a 16 month old, I LOVED that I could clearly envision all the scenes with baby Max, he stole the show. This book is so damn sweet and funny. I wouldn’t go as far as saying this is a RomCom but there are funny characters. No games, no misunderstandings, just love and the struggle to find happiness and work-value balance. The emotions run free with this group of characters and you will find it hard to fall in love with all of them. Miller is so dang sassy and Kei is exactly the balance. The spice is good, but doesn’t dominate the story.

Sweet quiet Halsey…more like daddy Dom

Halsey has been too quiet for 3 books and now we get to see him. It did not disappoint. Silas and Ollie’s story is still the funniest of the series and I thought theirs was the hottest until we meet Alpha Halsey, daddy has some hot kinks!! I laughed uncontrollably, swooned like a school girl, clutched my pearls and fanned myself, then cried like a baby as we join Halsey on his journey through grief, loss, and tragic thoughts of wishing he would have died instead of his beloved twin.

I don’t think this is a spoiler, but we don’t get a third act breakup (which is refreshing). Rather we experience other traumas that impact and stress relationships. For as emotional as certain topics will be, the author makes the kinky spice scenes that much more and makes it an enjoyable balance. Well done.

Hot and spicy RH and hockey

This book is amazing, not a lot of drama or angst, just 4 people/hot sex maniacs finding themselves and a family along the way. One of the spiciest books I’ve read (and I’ve read them all). I thought I knew a lot of kinks, and this definitely added several more (clutch your pearls or fan yourself) new ones.

I get the point of the book, that it’s not supposed to be drama-filled or angsty, but it’s a long freaking book and I would have appreciated a wee bit more plot outside of hockey and shmexy-time. I did get bored about 3/4 of the way thru of all the spice scenes, like alight already, we get it the characters like sex.
