Sick of politics injected in books

Story A little bland but I kept listening until chapter 4 until the author dropped in a character commenting about “lucky strike smoking anti Semitic republicans”
This line added nothing to the story except letting us know the authors political leanings.
We just want a story.

Can't believe I wasted one of my credits

The previous reviews rated it so highly I assumed it would be funny, I only laughed once in the first hour of the book so I have since stopped wasting my time reading the rest. The morbid and outrageous attempts at levity fell flat.

The authors political agenda is beyond obvious.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I got this book to listen along with my 13 year old niece who is reading the book. And end of the world style book does not need the authors political views boldly shown to tell the story . The jabs at Fox News, George Bush and Christians felt like a petulant child had written them during a temper tantrum .

WOW I haven't listened to Dan Brown in a while. Excellent plausible plot. You can really see the possibility of the story line.I didn't want to get out of my car!Rarely do I rate titles but when this book ended I knew I had to.
