Historia
After participating in the empire's vassal war, Matt, Liz, and Aster now have a fire nipping after their heels. Or rather, their new manager, Luna. And she demands their best at all times, or she will drive them off The Path of Ascension. With the Tier-10 tournament looming in front of them, the gang is going to have to dig deep if they want to continue on the path, but Luna isn't the only one who has plans. Can Matt, Liz, and Aster survive the machinations of a Tier-40 who has created several Ascenders before? Or will they simply be another statistic on The Path?

At what point will we get a major plot?
Revisado: 08-14-24
I got books 1-3 in a box set and that was a great deal. I must admit though I was starting to get concerned by book 3 at the pacing of the progress for the main characters. There are 50 tiers to then ascend to a higher relm. You'd think by book 4 the characters would be at tier 15 or more. Nope, I'm half way though the book and the characters are still at teir 7. most of this book is one big long training arc with some filler fun sprinkled in. Also the fights with other people is like an action movie. The main character is mowing through them all as if they were not even teir 6. Most don't even use abilities. I would imagine that the wars and battles by now would look like Overwatch when everyone spams their ultimates at the same time. I think this is the last book I'm going to read of this series. I sense a rushed ending or the author walking away from the series.

Arden was left in the village by a dying mage, who never returned. With no way out of the village on his own, he had always held onto the hope that one day his magic would awaken and give him access to his spheres. But he’s about to turn eighteen and it’s never come. Instead, he’s settled into his lot as a sarcastic and quick-witted innkeeper. That all changes one night when his old flame, who escaped the village to become a mage’s anchor, returns. Ard’s life is about to go through some dramatic changes, and he’s not ready for them.

Fun, sexy, with great writing.
Revisado: 07-08-24
For what this story is an Ecchi epic fantasy; it's one of the better ones. The story doesn't revolve around depraved sex with the plot being an after thought. There is great character development, great pacing, build up, and meaning behind the romantic moments that they become all the better. You can tell the enjoyment the author had in writing this story. The audio editor should know that at 3h 2m left the editor failed to upload the correct file. Insted of a character responding you hear about 3 seconds of mouse clicks and a mouse sliding across the mouse pad; you can't miss it so funny.

Ashe, a child of five years, woke to screams of his fellow villagers and animal growls. Terrified, he asked what was going on, but his mother grabbed him and fled their village with his father in hopes to escape the lizardmen that were raiding it. They weren't fast enough. After a plan was made up to split up and meet in a cave not too far away, Ashe's mother rushed towards that direction. Ashe felt better because they were losing the lizardmen, but she tripped and found that her ankle was at an odd angle.

An enfuriating lack of ergancy.
Revisado: 07-01-24
As the listener I will go over a few things I found to be lazy or annoying.
A. The male narrator is definently the weaker of the two. It's not bad but not good just mid.
B. The characters talk a lot in formal speach when talking to loved ones. The dialog can feel stilted and boring.
C. Predestined greatness that takes the MC from 0 to 150 instantly. Why give the guy this much power so early if he does nothing with it until he is eight years older? The author chose to go with a time jump right after the level gains so this power jump does nothing for the story.
D. When the village experiences crisis the MC decides to take more then all the time in the world to chat with EVERYONE with a question. Listen to advice on doing it the stealthy way. What was the point of giving this guy all that power if he is going to be so careful and slow? When a crisis is happening you are efficient with conversation to get only the importent information and get to saving more people. Then after the crisis is over chat about the rest.
E. Broke the number one unspoken rule in LITRPG. Allowing the MC to use a storage ring as a instant one shot kill cheat against any enemy of any level regardless of the MC's level.
F. Why did the author decide to give the MC 16 year old a probably 40 year old mother of a girl in his village that is around his own age. Someone has a mommy complex.
G. Did AI write this? It is so poorly written I seriously question the author actually writing it; especially the dialog.
In summation this is not worth a read since the genre of Issekai fantasy LITRPG is over saturated with better stories.

Historia
When it comes to action and adventure, every hero needs a good sidekick. Holmes has Watson, Batman has Robin, and Daniel has . . . Orrin. More like brothers than friends, they always have each other's backs. And as Daniel is the big, strong, handsome type, Orrin is more than happy to remain in his shadow at school, at parties, pretty much everywhere. Then things take a turn for the truly weird when a terrible accident catapults the pair into a world totally unlike their own, in which the rules of a role-playing game hold sway.

Revisado: 06-11-24
This is a great story that I enjoyed a lot. Nick Podehl is a vet at narrating and one of my favorite. He did Chaos Seed, Immortal Great Soul, and King's Dark Tidings to name a few. In none of those does Nick do this robot voice during dialogue. I don't know if this is out of protest or a decision by the producer but I'm disapointed with it. It's like they used deep fake AI to produce the narrration but used a word search for all skills and edited in the same cut of Nick reading the skill as if he was a skill list. Every time a skill is mentioned in dialogue or anything you get robot voice. I can not stress how off putting this is and how much it takes you out of the moment. Just get the physical copy if you can and enjoy it that way.

Growing up, she was the girl down the street. Even then, I knew she was different. She was tough, rough, and had the strength to stop a speeding car with her bare hands. We were as thick as thieves, sharing every adventure. Then one day she revealed a secret. She wasn't from Earth. She was from a distant place called the Arcadia Multiverse. Her people lived under the rule of a god-like entity known as the System. That System had its gaze fixed on Earth. And it was only a matter of time before it came for us.

Revisado: 02-29-24
This is a fun first book for a system apocalypses series. The way the MC cheats death was why I removed a star but left it overall 5 stars since I don't think that will happen again. I also hope that the future books will have more of a verity of women then athletic muscle. Good character development, progression, world building, and while not unique; it's well executed.

Historia
If there's one thing dragons fear, it's a kraken. Even lowly hull-scrubber Zee Tarrow knows that. Like everyone on the island kingdom of Tosh, he grew up frightened by fables and horrible tales of the great beasts of the deep. It seems an odd thing to impress upon the children of the realm, because–luckily for the dragons and their riders–no one has seen a kraken in a thousand years.

I will be buying a hard copy for the nieces and nephews when they get a bit older. This is like Harry Potter in that you can give this to a 10 year old or a 15 year old or an adult and as long as they are into well written YA they will love this. I am not easy to impress but this has me invested in the series. My only petty complaint is the description of the characters appearances is a bit lacking. I couldn't tell you anything about Z's appearance accept he has a lot of scars and he is short. I can tell you at least that the kraken's eye color is green. Not worth dropping a star over it still earned 5.

Historia
Ashlock wakes in the courtyard of a demonic sect... as a tree. A tree that eats people. An odd start to a new life. Almost as strange as the humans flying through the skies on flaming swords and challenging the heavens. After all, this is a world where humans could chase the goal of immortality through the art of cultivation. But Ashlock is merely a sapling in a desolate courtyard, left alone with his thoughts and unable to speak to those passing him by. Unless he does something about it.

Revisado: 01-14-24
This book is totally worth the credit. An interesting concept and world. Well executed but felt rushed in places. Still better then if the author dragged their feet then rushing the ending. As a personal preference can there be a dryad love interest. Besides my personal preferences of romantic stuff. Think Beware of Chicken when picking this series up. Also I appreciate how the story takes president over the skills. Tired of the LITRPG fluffing the length of their story with ever growing character profiles and skill spread sheets. Keep it simple and fun; which this book did a good job of doing.

It gets sooo good!
Revisado: 12-13-23
For most including myself this is a very slow burn. I put the book down in favor of other series I've been working on. I am so glad I came back to read this series. I am on book 3 now and trust me when I say once you reach book 2 you will be completely hooked. The humor is fun, progression is interesting, concept unique, good character cast, and great world building. Also I love the hidden references to other great progression fantasy books and they are rare enough to make them fun and not exhausting. I would love this author to write another series after this story is finished.

Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

Revisado: 11-27-23
Why does it take more then 2 years to come out with a book? This is one of my favorite progression fantasy books but the time between is a lot. Is it too much to ask for the third book by early 2025? It's a tournament arc for the mind's sake.

On a little-known planet, Archmage Varic Vallenar casts a grand spell to empower himself with the magical abilities of his alternate selves. The ritual works too well, granting Varic not only the magic but also the memories from six lives. Including their gruesome deaths. Now, Varic has power greater than any wizard in galactic history, but he knows that won’t be enough. The enemies he faced in those alternate lives were apocalyptic in scale. Terrors of technology and magic. Nothing that he, or anyone, can defeat.

Another book that feels rushed
Revisado: 08-07-23
The beguining felt really rushed but the pacing starts to slow down the farther into the book you get. I feel like this could be the best series in the genre if there were just 4 more hours of story to this book to fix the pacing. Still the conedy is funny AF, the characters are great, and the world is interesting. I will be looking for book 2 even though I suspect it will be another 10 to 12 hour book that feels a bit rushed. It's still better then 98 percent of the stuff out there.
