Historia
This vivid memoir speaks the intense truth of a Bronx tomboy whose 1960s girlhood was marked by her father's lullabies laced with his dissociative memories of combat in World War II. At four years old, Annie Rachele Lanzillotto bounced her Spaldeen on the stoop and watched the boys play stickball in the street; inside, she hid silver teaspoons behind the heat pipes to tap calls for help while her father beat her mother.

Wow! What an incredible story!
Revisado: 09-29-20
To read this book without hearing the author's voice would be to really miss out! Her own take on her life comes through with great humor, reflection, and wisdom. I want the entire world to be immersed in this incredible story. Also, I know it's not the end, so I look forward to more from this author and artist.

Historia
The body is where our instincts reside and where we fight, flee, or freeze, and it endures the trauma inflicted by the ills that plague society. In this groundbreaking work, therapist Resmaa Menakem examines the damage caused by racism in America from the perspective of body-centered psychology. He argues this destruction will continue until Americans learn to heal the generational anguish of white supremacy, which is deeply embedded in all our bodies.

A Beautiful Book With Permanent Relevance
Revisado: 08-20-20
This book, beautifully read here, is a clear, beautifully written guide for understanding and healing. I was so moved and inspired that I’m buying a print edition to use as a reference book at home or to be gifted to the right reader.
