Historia
Many of us live and operate from a mind-set of lack, scarcity, and limitation. We focus on what we don’t have - financial security, confidence, an intimate relationship - which keeps us feeling insecure and inadequate. We think “if only I could have those things, I could be happy”. But measuring wealth by money or material possessions leaves us feeling drained and spiritually empty. Constantly striving for more often means our ego is driving our thoughts, actions, and reactions, which prevents us from reaching something greater.

The amazing resilience and courage that isn’t at all suprising

Loved it! We all have our stories. Somehow when one has fame and wealth it can be assumed that they are not relatable. I am a huge fan since 67 and it breaks my heart that her life was so challenging early on and so familiar to too many (almost all) of us just being women, simply variations on a theme.
We are all in the same ocean, just different boats. Paddle on sisters. 💪🕉

Historia
Fifteen years after his number one New York Times best seller, Ageless Body, Timeless Mind, Deepak Chopra revisits "the forgotten miracle" – the body's infinite capacity for change and renewal. You cannot take advantage of this miracle, Chopra says, unless you are willing to completely reinvent your body, transforming it from a material object to a dynamic, flowing process. "Your physical body is a fiction," Chopra contends. Every cell is made up of two invisible ingredients: awareness and energy.

Historia
In another time and place, E. Gab Blackman and William Sousa "Sou" Bridgeforth might have been as close as brothers, but in 1950s Nashville they remained separated by the color of their skin. Gab, a visionary yet opportunistic radio executive, saw something no one else did: a vast and untapped market with the R&B scene exploding in Black clubs across the city. He defied his industry, culture, government, and even his own family to broadcast Black music to a national audience.

Truly the greatest untold story of the birth of R&B
Revisado: 06-09-24
This fantastic, surprising and sometimes shocking recounting of the authors grandfather unwittingly creating change in 1946 Jim Crow Nashville and the rest of our country.
By broadcasting “race” music under the cover of night across the US , his desire to rescue WLAC radio from its threatened demise at the dawn of TV not only changed him in untold ways but I believe it changed us all. We need this story now. Loved it!

I loved every word! I felt as if you are part of my friend group (coven😂) and sharing all the details I never knew I needed was so delightful! It’s a primer for young women to be able to arm themselves for survival in the patriarchy. One problem…now I must go back and watch all your movies knowing the life that was unfolding behind the script. 😂💚Thank you Barbra for sharing your amazing journey. So far. 💚🕉

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

I loved it! Thinking of my own mother and aunties. The challenges even I experienced.
One criticism, as one who was a child and lover of TV in this same time period as it was my babysitter, I found the readers mispronunciations of of certain words and places including Jack ‘LaLanne’ so tough to take. 🙄I have had 3 white German shepherds because of his show.
Seems silly but it affected me.

In present-day California, Eleanor Bennett’s death leaves behind a puzzling inheritance for her two children, Byron and Benny: a black cake, made from a family recipe with a long history, and a voice recording. In her message, Eleanor shares a tumultuous story about a headstrong young swimmer who escapes her island home under suspicion of murder. The heartbreaking tale Eleanor unfolds, the secrets she still holds back, and the mystery of a long-lost child challenge everything the siblings thought they knew about their lineage and themselves.

Historia
Brilliantly executed and compulsively listenable, Unsheltered is the story of two families, in two centuries, who live at the corner of Sixth and Plum, as they navigate the challenges of surviving a world in the throes of major cultural shifts. In this mesmerizing story told in alternating chapters, Willa and Thatcher come to realize that though the future is uncertain, even unnerving, shelter can be found in the bonds of kindred - whether family or friends - and in the strength of the human spirit.
