Historia
I>Shards of Honor is the novel in which Lois McMaster Bujold introduced the science-fiction world to Barrayar and Aral Vorkosigan, Beta Colony and Cordelia Naismith. From this beginning the author has created a multigenerational saga spanning time as well as space. Bujold is generally recognized as the current exemplar of the character-based science-fiction adventure story.

Historia
In the vein of classic authors such as Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, and Arthur C. Clarke, Nathan Arkwright is a seminal author of the 20th century. At the end of his life he becomes reclusive and cantankerous, refusing to appear before or interact with his legion of fans. Little does anyone know, Nathan is putting into motion his true timeless legacy. Convinced that humanity cannot survive on Earth, his Arkwright Foundation dedicates itself to creating a colony on an earthlike planet several light-years distant.

Mary Sue
Revisado: 11-24-16
narration was good. But... If ever ever there were a Mary Sue sci-fi story about a sci-fi author, this is that story. Action was weak; pacing was tolerable; story was a bit sparse.

Historia
On a remote, icy planet, the soldier known as Breq is drawing closer to completing her quest. Breq is both more than she seems and less than she was. Years ago, she was the Justice of Toren - a colossal starship with an artificial intelligence linking thousands of corpse soldiers in the service of the Radch, the empire that conquered the galaxy. An act of treachery has ripped it all away, leaving her with only one fragile human body.

Celeste Ciulla's reading is wooden and irritating.
Revisado: 07-18-16
Would you be willing to try another one of Celeste Ciulla’s performances?
Under no circumstances.
Any additional comments?
For the first time in my ten-year Audible listening history, I stopped listening to an interesting novel because of its narration. I just couldn't get past Celeste Ciulla’s performance. Her reading is wooden, there's virtually no variation in her inflection, and she reads far too slowly. I've picked up the ebook to finish this title, which is a shame, because I was looking forward to listening to this trilogy.

A typical fiction
Revisado: 04-02-05
This chapter is a typical example of the fiction many modern Christians construct around the reality of life so that what they come to understand as real dovetails with the ways they are taught by their faith to respond to given situations. In reality, Warren's depictions of modern life and attitudes are trite; they only serve to set up the points he later proves (this logical fallacy is known as a Straw Man attack). In short, this text is a fiction propagating a fiction, and the fact that it helped a woman to to reason with a criminal does not mean the text itself is a valuable tool for reasoning (that logical fallacy is known as Post Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc). If I could give it less than one star, I would.
