I greatly enjoyed the medical mystery provided by this author. I have never before heard that you will laid out and clearly knowledgeable hospital drama. Having been in critical care for 27 years, and having spent much of that time in the ER,I really will subject myself to the horrors of a poorly written medical story.

My only objection to the story is the unfortunate light in which the nurses are viewed. I imagine if the author got their experience of hospitals in the south, perhaps the antiquated views depicted in this set of novels is accurate. However it must be said that it is demeaning to nurses to be referred to as subordinate to doctors, to be denied collegiality and suspected when there are new as needing oversight so they don't kill someone.

Pendergast does it again

For Agent Pendergast fans this is a must read. This is not as intriguing as some of the earlier novels but the addition of an undiscovered Conan-Doyle novel is a great literary device.

I have mixed feelings about this novel. I am genuinely glad I listened to the book, and it has made an emotional impression on me and some of my long held preconceptions. The reading is excellent, the subject matter is not what I expected nor is it something I would have generally chosen. I would recommend this book to specific individuals: Those interested in animal rights, activism, or particularly fond of quirky novels.

Bad Boss

Total
1 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 02-13-07

I think I get what the author was trying to do but all I kept hearing was how bad his former boss was. The descriptions of his boss's bad behavior went from bad to worse and like a bad train wreck I couldn't stop listening. This guy's boss was soooo bad that it was hard to learn anything about leadership--I sincerely doubt there are too many leaders out there who possess the same uniquely aweful qualities that were described in this book.

I've watched the TV show and was interested to learn what the real story is behind Alison Dubois. This book is read by the author and her husband and in this case I think they should have had someone else read it. Once I got past the cadence of the reader, I found the story itself fairly interesting.

1,001 Ways to Inspire

This is a really excellent book with a lot of helpful information on personality profiling. The one detractor from the audio version is the absence of the actual personality test which is crucial to understanding the content.
