Good enough
Revisado: 09-15-24
I think I expected more from Freida. It was ok. Certainly an unexpected twist at the end. I did not appreciate the narrator. She sounded almost robotic. It was very distracting, particularly her male voices.

Timeless

I appreciate the historical note from the author. Happy that this book had a nice ending. And it revealed some painful parts of our black community. The narration was perfect, and the storyline although a bit predictable, was both soothing and sorrowful.

Revisado: 07-04-24
This book was just ok for me. Certainly not as eventful as the others in the series. It was just Luke warm. I wanted to just get through it, but certainly not excited about reading it. The storyline was a bit predictable and underwhelming.

Historia
When Kitty Karr Tate, a White icon of the silver screen, dies and bequeaths her multimillion-dollar estate to the St. John sisters, three young, wealthy Black women, it prompts questions. Lots of questions. A celebrity in her own right, Elise St. John would rather focus on sorting out Kitty’s affairs than deal with the press. But what she discovers in one of Kitty’s journals rocks her world harder than any other brewing scandal could—and between a cheating fiancé and the fallout from a controversial social media post, there are plenty.

Historia
It’s been a decade since Trumanell Branson disappeared, leaving only a bloody handprint behind. Her pretty face still hangs like a watchful queen on the posters on the walls of the town’s Baptist church, the police station, and in the high school. They all promise the same thing: We will find you. Meanwhile, Tru's brother, Wyatt, lives as a pariah in the desolation of the old family house, cleared of wrongdoing by the police but tried and sentenced in the court of public opinion and in a new documentary about the crime.
