Historia
While cells are commonly considered the building block of living things, it is actually the communication between cells that brings us to life, controlling our bodies and brains, determining whether we are healthy or sick, and directly influencing how we think, feel, and behave. In The Secret Language of Cells, doctor and neuroscientist Jon Lieff lets us listen in on these conversations, and reveals their significance for everything from mental health to cancer.

I was afraid to buy this because I wasn’t sure I could understand it. Not only was it totally understandable, but it was enjoyable and entertaining. I would definitely buy anything he wrote.!

Such a great series!
Revisado: 04-20-22
I love this series! I wish they would make it a show. By BBC or something. *hint hint*
No swearing, no describing sex scenes, quite innocent. And a great narrator, unlike some audio books.
Highly recommend!

Historia
Arriving in Cairo for another thrilling excavation season, Amelia is relaxing in a well-earned bubble bath in her elegant hotel suite in Cairo when a man with a knife protruding from his back staggers into the bath chamber and utters a single word - "murder" - before collapsing on the tiled floor, dead. Among the few possessions he carried was a sheet of paper with Amelia's name and room number.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Funny & Captivating
Revisado: 07-12-17
What did you love best about Columbus Day?
Loved it from beginning to end . Sad to have it end when they announced there was another book . I mean im so tired of finding a great book, writer and narrator only to have to wait another 10 years for the end of it ! Low and behold there are 3.5 books Woo-hoo! I Did a little dance. 😲
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved Joe and Skippy You can't love one without the other ! The sarcasm rolls off the two of them like water off a ducks back . Great characters. 👍
What about R.C. Bray’s performance did you like?
Loved his ability to make you never realize when he'd move from one voice to the next . You never noticed you weren't in the same room as the characters . 😊
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes there was ! When this book finished they announced another book and I did a little dance around the room I love a FINISHED series .😨
Any additional comments?
This is the kind of series I'd listen to more than once! Lots of funny moments that lightens up the sometimes bad situation Joe gets himself into 😈

He also possesses raw magical talent and the ability to make objects in his vicinity light as a feather or as heavy as depleted uranium, all with a magical thought. It's no wonder the G-men turn to Jake when they need someoneto go after a suspected killer who has been knocking off banks in a magic-enhanced crime spree.
