Historia
At the end of his memoir Talking to Canadians, Rick Mercer was poised to make the biggest leap yet in his extraordinary career. The Road Years picks up the story at that exciting point, with the greenlighting of what would become Rick Mercer Report. Plans for the show, of course, included political satire and Rick’s patented rants.

I love listening to stories about my country from someone who so obviously loves it as much as I. Of course it is even more enjoyable if the person telling the story is as funny and entertaining as Rick. I’m so glad he took the time and effort to write this book. I hope there are more to come.

Historia
It's 1994, and three stand-up comedians have embarked on a tour of smaller communities across a remote stretch of rural countryside. Dale is a forty-something comic from Chicago who's on the back half of a mediocre career and thinking about quitting the business. Rynn is a twenty-something fast-rising comedy star from Dublin with a big Hollywood break on her horizon. The third performer is a local act, a late addition to the bill who has agreed to open the shows and do all the driving. He goes by the name Hobie Huge, and he is, indeed, enormous.

Brent Butt is a national treasure
Revisado: 12-21-23
When I heard about his book on The National I had to get it. Brent’s work on Corner Gas was genius so no surprise that his first book is also stellar. Enjoyed the jokes and the adventure the story provided. Big fan. Thanks Brent

Historia
Comedy superstar Mike Myers writes from the (true patriot) heart about his 53-year relationship with his beloved Canada. Mike Myers is a world-renowned actor, director and writer and the man behind some of the most memorable comic characters of our time. But, as he says, "No description of me is truly complete without saying I'm a Canadian". He has often winked and nodded to Canada in his outrageously accomplished body of work, but now he turns the spotlight full-beam on his homeland.

Very personal and relatable
Revisado: 11-20-16
What did you like best about this story?
It struck so many chords with me as a fellow Canadian who grew up in southern Ontario. It was laugh out loud funny in many spots. It was a trip through my life and experiences as a Canadian.
What about Mike Myers’s performance did you like?
Completely authentic from the heart.
Any additional comments?
We all need to be able to laugh at ourselves and that is certainly a requirement if you're a Canadian listening to this book. Mike is unabashedly, unapologetically Canadian though and that is fantastic. Rock on Mike!

Historia
In this sports memoir, Wayne Gretzky weaves memories of his legendary career with an inside look at professional hockey and the heroes and stories that inspired him. From minor-hockey phenomenon to Hall of Fame sensation, Wayne Gretzky rewrote the record books, his accomplishments becoming the stuff of legend. Dubbed “The Great One”, he is considered by many to be the greatest hockey player who ever lived. No one has seen more of the game than he has - but he has never discussed in depth just what it was he saw.

Awesome hockey book
Revisado: 11-06-16
I loved the book. I believe any hockey fan will love it too. Listening to the thoughts, feelings and experiences of one of the greatest players to play the game is truly compelling. The book lived up to its promise in every way. Gretz's respect for fans, players past present and future and the game itself is clear.
