Great legal book!
Revisado: 08-23-23
The characters are good. The storyline is engaging. The suspense is palatable. He lost one star for performance, because there was too much staccato in his voice. I had to speed it up to 1.25 to smooth it out a bit.
I’ll be looking for another Michael Stagg book, I really appreciate “included in audible original” books.

Historia
One fateful starless night, 17-year-old Ira Wagler got up at 2 AM, left a scribbled note under his pillow, packed all of his earthly belongings into in a little black duffel bag, and walked away from his home in the Amish settlement of Bloomfield, Iowa. Now, in this heartwarming memoir, Ira paints a vivid portrait of Amish life - from his childhood days on the family farm, his Rumspringa rite of passage at age 16, to his ultimate decision to leave the Amish Church for good at age 26.

Great Story of True Redemption!
Revisado: 05-31-23
This is so well written. I thoroughly enjoyed how how true the store was. Unlike a predictable fiction novel, you are not sure what’s going to happen next.
It is narrated by one of my favorite performers Adam Verner, Adam has a lot more voices in his repertoire, but this book just required him to gently unfold the story with perfect rhythm.

Historia
The world has changed. Now, when someone is murdered, they almost always come back to life—and there are professionals, called “dispatchers”, who kill in order to save lives, to give those near the end a second chance. Tony Valdez is a dispatcher, and he has never been busier. But for as much as the world has changed, some things have stayed the same. Greed, corruption, and avarice are still in full swing.

One small problem…lots of reward
Revisado: 02-23-23
The small problem that the concept of “dispatch“ was never explained pales, in comparison of how much I loved, laughed and lingered on this novel.
I will listen to it again soon. And once again, I’ll just ignore the fact that the sci-fi concept of dispatch has no physics or rational explanation, even though it’s the main point of the book.
Good job, tying off all the loose ends.

Don’t Save the Girl
Revisado: 02-22-23
The plot line was very forced. There’s a girl, “ she’s going to be trouble” it’s revealed that she’s actually a lot of trouble and will compromise the mission.
But he has to save her because he feels bad. 😆
So stupid. There’s so many different ways you could’ve connected her or written that part of the story.
Other parts of the story plot line, where forced as well.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Interesting Story, but Devalues Human Life.
Revisado: 01-01-22
If you enjoy geeky Science stuff, then you’ll enjoy Weir’s books.
Unfortunately, coming from an evolutionist worldview human life is devalued. It’s subtle, but there’s an overtone that humans are selfish, destroy the planet, and destroy each other. I had to drop the story two notches for this.
Iridians (the alien species) on the other hand, there’s only positive things to say.
Also it would’ve been nice for Dr. Grace and his friend to have a conversation about about God and how all the stars and planets in space speak to (at least a possible) existence of a greater intelligence. From a strictly evolutionist perspective human life is devalued. Just one species trying to survive another day. But there’s so many other issues of morality, worship, and the Cosmological proof of God that is totally avoided. Sad sad sad. (read the book to understand this last reference)
{Spoiler Alert}
It’s Noble that Dr. Grace went back to save his friend. But the book should have Included a perspective from earth, more than just a few lines about Dr. Grace speculation of how it ended. Weir could have and should have followed up with what happened after releasing all the methane into the atmosphere. And how all the main characters on earth ended up solving the problem.

Tonight, Osmond Box, the reclusive yet wildly successful writer/director known for his completely surprising Broadway plays, is debuting his seventh and most highly anticipated production of his career: The Guilty. Nothing is known about the story, the setting, the premise, or even the actors involved. The first people to discover the truth will be the lucky ones sitting in those seats opening night.

30sec Fast-forward is a Delight
Revisado: 11-07-21
I started fast-forwarding after the “plot” repeated itself for the third time and the gun was set down for the fifth time.
Unrealistic: The people in danger keep treating to leave, but stop just because “Box” tells them to stop. Stupid character development.
I’m surprised Patterson is putting his name on this trash. This is not his style and it’s tarnishing his career.
I gave it two stars because I was compelled to fast forward to the end to see how it resolved. Very disappointed and predictable.

Rico has a problem. The experimental program that gave him the high intelligence and lightning reflexes he needs as a hit man for a galactic crime syndicate left him incapable of internalizing moral imperatives the rest of us take for granted. It takes real effort for him to pass as a normal human being and he avoids it whenever he can. But he has a job he loves, a fast ship, and plenty of cash. So life is good.

Revisado: 04-19-21
By far one of the best thrillers I have listened to. Richards does a fabulous job reading and inflicting the humor (which is one of the best parts of the book...you had me at “I guess I bring out the best in people” Ha!) Great development of characters, solid plot, believable use of Syfi, I already downloaded the sequel, now my only issue is neglecting personal responsibility because I’m into the book.

Historia
America is great for a reason. Built on principles of freedom, rugged individualism, and self-sufficiency, no country has ever accumulated more power and wealth, abused it less, or used that power more to advance the human condition. And yet, as America blossomed, left-wing radicalism and resentment festered beneath the surface, threatening to undermine democracy in the form of social justice warriors, the deep state, and compromised institutions like academia and the mainstream media.

Must Read Before 2020 Election
Revisado: 08-25-20
You would hope many people leaning to the left would read this book. The facts are un-disputable, the content is clear, in the message is critical.
Sean Hannity reads as though he is doing a podcast. It is lively, engaging, and entertaining.
My favorite part might have been when he read all the liberal media articles about the coronavirus from February. They were calling Trump a racist for the China travel ban! Then hannity called the virus for what it is a political gift dropped in the lap of the Democrats. And they are ringing it out for every drop of the damage they can have against Trump in the election.
