Historia
Drawing from a diverse range of theologians, sociologists, artists, and activists, Confronting Injustice Without Compromising Truth, by Thaddeus Williams, makes the case that we must be discerning if we are to "truly execute justice" as Scripture commands. Not everything called "social justice" today is compatible with a biblical vision of a better world. The Bible offers hopeful and distinctive answers to deep questions of worship, community, salvation, and knowledge that ought to mark a uniquely Christian pursuit of justice.

Great Overview of Current Issues
Revisado: 05-15-21
A Christian’s view of how to biblically handle injustice—by questioning, researching, and ultimately speaking truth in love. Williams writes clearly and easy to understand—and his narration is wonderful. I appreciated his historical references and biblical truths, while stressing the importance of loving our neighbors and sharing the gospel.

Christians who are confused by the homosexuality debate raging in the US are looking for resources that are based solidly on a deep study of what Scripture says about the issue. In People to Be Loved, Preston Sprinkle challenges those on all sides of the debate to consider what the Bible says and how we should approach the topic of homosexuality in light of it.

A MUST read for EVERY Christian
Revisado: 03-07-21
Preston Sprinkle has a wonderful heart, a desire for the Truth, and a great intelligence for study. His in-depth look at homosexuality in the Bible is DEEP and he carefully looks at all sides. He also looks at the person—the image-bearer of God. We are ALL created in the image of God; we are ALL sinners in need of the saving grace of Jesus! We as the Church have fallen short and have not followed Jesus in this matter. I am so grateful that Preston wrote this book. The narrator was great, but would have loved to hear Preston himself read it.

Historia
As a woman in today’s world, you know what it’s like to feel pressure on all sides from clashing cultural expectations. How can you stay true to who God has uniquely created you to be in the face of the script you’ve been given? What’s more, how can you stand your ground with grace? The classy confidence you know and love - whether it’s on set at Full House or Fuller House, Dancing with the Stars, The View, or Candace’s Hallmark films - is no act. But it hasn’t come easy. In fact, learning to stay true to herself with grace has been one of the biggest fights of Candace’s life.

I loved that this book was read by the author; she has a lovely, conversational tone that makes one feel like your sitting down talking together. This is a wonderful easy listen with a lot of heart, yet challenging at the same time. I enjoyed her personal examples and her openness in revealing her own struggles. A worthwhile read!

Is Christianity obsolete? Can an intelligent, educated person really believe the Bible? Or do the atheists have it right? In his new book, best-selling author Dinesh D'Souza ( What's So Great about America) investigates both Christianity and atheism and their influences on culture to show why there is, indeed, something great about Christianity.

An amazing, academic explanation of Christianity; without losing its essence. The narrator was easy to understand and made a heavy work more than palatable. I highly recommend this book to anyone questioning Christianity or wanting to dissect Christianity vs Atheism.

Historia
Your God is too small. We like God small. We prefer a God who is safe, domesticated, who thinks like we think, likes what we like, and whom we can manage, predict, and control. A small God is convenient. Practical. Manageable. The truth: God is big. Bigger than big. Bigger than all the words we use to say big. Ironically, many today seem turned off by the concept of an awesome, terrifyingly great God. We assume that a God you would need to fear is guilty of some kind of fault. For us, thinking of God as so infinitely greater and wiser than we are and who would cause us to tremble in his presence is a leftover relic.

Wow! What a challenging book to my faith. It is an easy read, yet powerful and can hit you between the eyes. The author has great illustrations, Biblical stories, and historical stories to help you grasp the concepts. There are tons of scripture to nail down the truths contained throughout the book.

A little hard to follow
Revisado: 10-19-20
I found this book difficult to follow as a listener. There were a lot of characters and many were called by more than one name—this was confusing. It was also difficult for me to get into the story as there seemed to be too many viewpoints and it was hard to jump from one to another. The narration was good—just not a great book from this usually wonderful author.

Another great Julie Klassen novel! Cannot put it down. Fantastic character development and well researched historic references. Elizabeth Jasicki is a superb narrator as well—with different voices for characters that assists the listener in identifying who is in the scene.

Excellent Narrator!!
Revisado: 10-02-20
Love this classic, but this particular narrator is spectacular. She creates a superb voice for each character. I got completely lost in the story and characters and often forgot it was the same person talking the whole time. Definitely worth the credit, but was really thrilled that it is part of the Audible library which is included with my subscription!
