Historia
If opposites do actually attract, then Gunnar Erickson and Frankie Reeves take the cake. Frankie Reeves fills her days working as an ER nurse, taking care of her mom, and searching for the father she never knew. Anything else has no place in her perfectly compartmentalized, purposefully simple life. Attachments? No thank you. Gunnar Erickson recently moved to Green Valley to train at Viking MMA with his brother Cage. But before he can step into the ring, a freak accident sends him to the ER and into the care of one Frankie Reeves.

Plot potential, unfortunate delivery.
Revisado: 12-06-22
I wanted to like this book, the plot and characters seemed interesting. However, like it’s predecessor the second book in the Donner bakery series written by Jiffy Kate it just felt rushed and underdeveloped. I love all of the OG Green Valley books. Additionally, I am no stranger to violence and the depiction of real world traumas. However, the way those topics were delivered and used in this book was sloppy and I’ll be honest, pretty gross. A vast difference in this depiction versus the original series and my biggest complaint with this installment.
**SPOILERS**
Though there are some stark similarities with this characters trauma and some of the original books the way those traumas are handled are incredibly different. It felt like this characters depiction of trauma relied heavily on the visceral recoil to drive home a point. It also felt piled on and unnecessarily detailed.
Outside of that the characters interactions felt one dimensional and previous characters felt like they didn’t hold on to their own development.
The idea was solid and I was looking forward to it but I found myself wishing I’d skipped this one.

Love green valley and the premise
Revisado: 11-24-22
I really liked the premise of this book. The delivery fell short for me. I wanted more about the two folks in love, less about her constantly comparing EVERYTHING to her ex. I think they could’ve been great. The end felt rushed and out of character in some places. The voice actors were very good but I do t think the female lead was a good vocal fit for her character, though I love her in other titles.

Historia
Winnifred Gobaldi and Byron Visser are not best friends. Yes, they’ve known each other for years, but they’re not even friendly. Winnie considers them more like casual, distant acquaintances who find each other barely tolerable, especially when he's being condescending (which is all the time).

Male voice extremely mismatched to character
Revisado: 08-21-22
Loved the story and the characters. Cielo Camacho is terrific as usual. Unfortunately the male voice was very mismatched to the character and the handful of chapters (four chapters?) that he narrated it definitely pulled you out of the story a bit. I’m a sucker for a story and I’m glad I stuck with it because the story truly was delightful, I just wish they had a different voice that matched the characteristics defined within the novel.

Historia
After losing her boyfriend, apartment, and job in the same day, Janie Morris can't help wondering what new torment fate has in store. To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan—a.k.a. Sir McHotpants—witnesses it all then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can't afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn—the focus of her slightly, albeit harmless, stalkerish tendencies—to make her an offer she can't refuse.

Unexpected in the wrong ways
Revisado: 04-23-22
This book had an amazing potential, unfortunately and unexpectedly it careened off course.
I always give a reason if I leave less that 3 stars on anything. I’ll be honest, my main reason is that I skipped to the end. I bailed about three chapters after the half way point.
The lack of growth the MFC had by mid book was uncomfortable and honestly had me cringing, The focus on appearance also was uncomfortable and often had me cringing. I don’t mind farcical humor but the moments felt misplaced and ultimately there were these interesting characters that felt stagnant, which is one of the most unfortunate things for a book. In skipping 6 to 8 chapters ahead I was surprised in that a cursory few sentences summed up what had happened and we picked right back up with a joke that directly referenced material I had listened to immediately before I skipped ahead. Which is a very long drawn out way of saying I didn’t miss much. Which is a bit on the nose for this listening experience. By the end it felt like the characters had only grown in the most minimum effort kind of ways. This book had a really great foundation and the characters were immediately interesting so it was unexpected that I simply couldn’t stick with the often uncomfortable character development.
