Historia
For years, the ancient alien AI known as Skippy (the Magnificent, don’t forget that part) has been able to do one impossible thing after another. What is his secret? It’s simple: 100 percent Grade-A extreme awesomeness. And also because he had never been faced with an opponent of equal power. Until now. This time, he might need a little help from a band of filthy monkeys.

Sad ending for a once unique story idea
Revisado: 07-12-22
I have to say that this has been one of the best and most enjoyable book series I've listen to. My anticipation for this las chapter was great. I am very disappointed. I am curious as to whether audio books are previewed before release. I can't believe that such a good writer as Craig Alanson released this without review. The first three fourths of this book was an empty conversation that had little to no substance. I waited and waited and nothing. The story went nowhere. I think the story was about the possibility of another AI out there was similar to Skippy. Where was the backstory for this other AI? the story possibilities were boundless. I felt like I was listening to 20 hour discussion of todays weather. What made this whole series interesting was the new problems that occurred for the Merry Band of Pirates mixed with the humorous banter between Bishop and Skippy. With the entrance of another AI on Skippy's level could have been a greater part of the story. Could there possibly be some serious content mixed with something unexpected? Possible recognition between Skippy and the other AI? This book sounds like it was too hurriedly written. I think that unless Craig can come up with really, really new story ideas he should put this entire series along with spinoffs to rest. In short it was boring. Craig Alanson is a great writer and I am sure he will deliver great future adventures, but this story has run it's course. The ONLY reason I finished it was due to R C Bray's awesomeness as a great performer. Without him this entire series would not have been the same.

I'm sorry, but this book just didn't catch my interest. I listened intently. I honestly can't tell you what it was even about. I tried.
I know it wasn't my mood because I listened to another audiobook and was pleased with that.I just couldn't get my interest in it.

Did 9429 others get shagged too?
Revisado: 06-17-20
I see the book at this point has been reviewed 9429 times. I love Skippy, Joe and the Merry Band of pirates. I loved the title of the book and had hoped the the ship would have had more face time in the book. BUT, how many time can you have a five minute explanation of something only to repeat it almost word for word a few seconds later. It's called FLUFF. FILLER, a waste of my time and everyone else's time. It was hard labor to bear this book at all. I have loved all the stories thus far. Not THIS! Than at the and he puts a cliff hanger there to entice you to buy the next one. I guess the author refers to his readers as "Those stupid Monkeys!" Not me.

Maybe it's just me, BUT.......
Revisado: 05-28-15
Would you try another book from Saxon Andrew and/or Liam Owen?
The first book in this series was very, very good for my tastes. Book two was OK. With this book however, the author has fallen into a deep rut that not only he, but other authors and screenwriters make the mistake in trudging through. They have a great book. He now thinks, I have their attention so lets do some social and political brainwashing. A small amount of "if we just talk, we can all get along with each other" goes a long way. Also, I like special powers and abilities, but making things too easy for the good guys make for a boring story. Make the good guys struggle. Don't let them predictably and easily overwhelm the villians each and every time. Then, the villians see the errors of their ways and suddenly want to "all get along and live happily ever after". I want to be entertained, not indoctrinated. If I wanted politcal correctness, I'd go back to watching television. I would not try another book from Saxon Andrew.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I love Space Operas. I'll try and find another author with an original idea to imagine.
Have you listened to any of Liam Owen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've not heard any of his other performances.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I loved the characters, but have no challenges for them makes them boring Space Gods!
Any additional comments?
Maybe it's just a coincidence. I have read several of Audibles books from different authors. So far, three different Space Operas I've started in as many weeks have been similar stories, similar characters with the boring Godlike powers. It's almost like the same person is writing them all.

Nuttall runs the ship into a comet
Revisado: 05-02-15
What would have made Warspite better?
The character development was long and tedious. Half the book was completed before the plot that was introduced from the beginning was followed up.
What could Christopher G. Nuttall have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
There should have been more action and better pacing. Compared to the first trilogy, this book seemed like it was written by a completely different and uninterested author.
Would you be willing to try another one of Ralph Lister’s performances?
The narrator did well for the poor material he was presented with. I would give him another try.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Redeeming qualities were non-existent. I was very disappointed.
Any additional comments?
I know this may be an overused idea, but a book about Ark Royal's early adventures would be more enjoyable. At least the "Ark Royal" moniker may have been a better fit. It was proven by the first three books that Mr.Nuttall is a great and imaginative author. He just fell asleep on the bridge.

Finally a Story!
Revisado: 08-13-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, It's a very good listen.
What did you like best about this story?
The writer greatly expands Colenes character. The subject matter is simply fascinating and well developed explanations for those unfamiliar with fractals. The other main character, Darius, remains virtually undeveloped and we know little more about him than he is a guy from another dimension (mode) . Still I would recommend this book as very entertaining.
Nothings perfect.
Which character – as performed by Mark Winston – was your favorite?
The horse.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No
Any additional comments?
It's worth reading and well worth the listen, but not in one sitting. There are too many facts to absorb and enjoy!

Fair Introduction - Good Series
Revisado: 08-13-12
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend the series, but the introduction is very weak and takes way too long to introduce the characters. About the time the plot is developed to a point the book gets really interesting, it ends. It was a good way to sell the second book. :"))
What was most disappointing about Piers Anthony’s story?
Good Narration
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Yes, the series would make a great franchise.
