Fun and gorey story. A little vulgar but not over the top. Reminded me a bit of John Carpenter's "In the Mouth of Madness."

I've listened to the first two of this series in less than a week. I'm sure I will have the last two completed in as much time. Give it a chance. It's a new, unique supernatural type story. Not the same ol template that cascades through most witch based story lines.

I have to start with saying I really dig the narrator. Her voice did well at keeping my attention from drifting or zoning out. I’m usually walking out driving when listening and even a good story can kind of fade away when starting at a windshield.
I am far from a young adult, it’s a unique story and it’s not just for teens. If you like magic and such. :)
It’s worth a listen. Especially since you get the whole series for one credit.

It’s not Anita or Merry for sure but if they had a baby boy I’m pretty sure he’d be similar to this new main character.
The change from preternatural to angelic was a kind of hard sell. I purchased this right away but it sat in my library until I was done with the few I had in queue.
I eventually got around to it and I’m glad I did.
Good story, great characters and awesome narrator. Some people seem to have an issue with his speech tempo. It works well for some characters but not all so if it’s too slow there is the fancy speech rate adjustment setting audible provides for you… just speed it up.
Anyway…
I don’t want to gripe about missing Anita because I always do. From the time I finish a book until the next one is released.
As a writer LKH made a good move in this new development I think. It shows her writing is great regardless of the character.
