Historia
The Historian chances upon Surac, a land where people's destinies are defined by powerful pendants they have from birth, called Stones. Those whose Stones give them useful skills call themselves Creators and isolate themselves from all others with a wall that splits the entire continent. When Aric, a Creator blacksmith, has a son born with a Stone that marks him for violence and destruction, they find themselves in danger from those they called their friends.

Historia
It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

Creative world, good character depth, great story.
Revisado: 01-19-17
I was looking for a good book after finishing the second book in "The Way of Kings" series. This book was perfect. Michael Kramer does a superb job an narrating. I hadn't heard of James Islington prior to this and was pleasantly surprised. This book is on par with "Mistborn", and very similar in style to Brandon Sanderson.
If you are looking for a good storyline, this is a great choice. I am excited to see where he goes with the next books.
