Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Just amazing!

A very bold, unapologetic and brave book. It’s amazing to experience with the author how her perspective of her life, her mom, her career, herself changed throughout the years, from her childhood, to her whole recovery process, till nowadays. Excellent job. Highly recommend it if you have a tough relationship with your parents - or one of them.

Historia
Why do we find sexuality so, well... scary? Comedian and co-creator of the hit show Feel Good, Mae Martin, investigates in this hilarious and intelligent guide to 21st century sexuality. By narrating their own, often humiliating, adventures in sex, dating and identity, Mae demystifies everything from weird crushes and coming out, to the pros and cons of labels and the joys of sexual fluidity. Mae's mission is to ensure that in a world that's full of things to worry about, who we choose to kiss should not be one of them. And when it comes to sexuality, Mae asks: CAN EVERYONE PLEASE CALM DOWN?

I loved it!!!

I love Mae’s work. Since I found out about her I’m obsessed with everything she creates! She’s really funny and smart. She has a much needed way to talk about important issues with comedy, making us feel good and hopeful, instead of frustrated, angry and hopeless.
Recommend this book 10/10!
