Historia
There's no such thing as a perfect guy, but Xavier Rush comes disastrously close. A gorgeous veterinarian giving Greek god vibes—all while cuddling a tiny kitten? Immediate yes. That is until Xavier opens his mouth and proves that even sculpted gods can say the absolute wrong thing. Like, really wrong. Of course, there’s nothing Samantha loves more than proving an asshole wrong . . . unless, of course, he can admit he made a mistake.

Such a real love story
Revisado: 04-25-25
This was such a true life love story. I love the integration of the family ties and the ties too your professional life. I know so many vets who experience what the main character did. Vets are some of the hardest working and most kind people in the world. Most people truly do not understand what they go through. A huge, thank you to the author for shedding light into the life of a vet. I also appreciated the insight into how families overcome the struggle of someone that is experiencing memory loss.
I think it’s a good reminder that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how dim.

Historia
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

Historia
Olivia McAfee knows what it feels like to start over. Her picture-perfect life—living in Boston, married to a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, raising their beautiful son, Asher—was upended when her husband revealed a darker side. She never imagined that she would end up back in her sleepy New Hampshire hometown, living in the house she grew up in and taking over her father’s beekeeping business. Lily Campanello is familiar with do-overs, too. When she and her mom relocate to Adams, New Hampshire, for her final year of high school, they both hope it will be a fresh start.

Could not stop reading…
Revisado: 06-09-23
This book was a rare doings into a world that most do not know or understand, and that glimpse is into the life of a teenager and into the world of trans humans. I love the way they brought to life the struggles that our people take on a day-to-day basis. It is a great reminder that we are so much more than what we see.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

I was so inspired by the characters in this book.
It paints a clear picture of what women have endured to get us to where we are today!

Revisado: 04-30-22
I am a high school science teacher.
I try to read the books that my students are reading in their other classes.
Our juniors were reading this book, so I started reading too.
I, like my students could not stop reading.
I have not heard students buzz about a book they were reading like this in ages!
Loved this book!!

Historia
Misinformation, disinformation, and fake news abound, and it’s increasingly difficult to know what’s true. We are fairly well equipped to spot the sort of old-school bullshit that is based in fancy rhetoric and weasel words, but most of us don’t feel qualified to challenge the avalanche of new-school bullshit presented in the language of math, science, or statistics. In Calling Bullshit, Professors Carl Bergstrom and Jevin West give us a set of powerful tools to cut through the most intimidating data.

This should be read by every math class
Revisado: 11-14-20
As a math/science teacher so much of this book resonated with what I teach my kids. I want them to think about how what they say and do affects the world. This is such a good representation of how we should think before we act.
This book was clear and very entertaining. I highly recommend to anyone and everyone who sees bullshit

Eeek Spiders
Revisado: 08-25-20
This was a fascinating parentheticals book about the marriage of biology and astrophysics. It was a brief look into a possible future if we continue to destroy our planet well still growing in terms of our knowledge of science. If you are afraid of spiders, this book might creep you out. If you are willing to get past it it is an interesting read.

Historia
Over billions of years, ancient fish evolved to walk on land, reptiles transformed into birds that fly, and apelike primates evolved into humans that walk on two legs, talk, and write. For more than a century, paleontologists have traveled the globe to find fossils that show how such changes have happened.
