Each book Gregory Boyle writes gets better and better. I love them all, and I was so happy when I learned this book was coming out. So I pre-ordered a hard copy of it, and felt like it was truly God-sent when I opened an Amazon box to find it on election night. Drawing from his three decades of experience with Homeboy Industries, Boyle presents a compelling vision of community and healing, rooted in the belief that every person is unshakably good and we all belong to each other. Through colorful anecdotes and wisdom from former gang members, Boyle challenges readers to see the world through a lens of love and practice radical kindness as a defiance against societal divisions. His intimate and vulnerable voice adds depth to the narrative, creating a sense of personal connection with the reader. "Cherished Belonging" is not just a book but a call to action, inspiring readers to nurture connections and see the inherent goodness in all people, offering a compassionate way forward in our current times. I can’t recommend it enough! Just what I needed. I also ordered it here on Audible, so I can listen to Father Greg read it. Truly, it’s even more powerful to listen to him read his books. I will continue to re-read and re-listen to “Cherished Belonging” as a guide to navigating these times we are living through.

As Nedra Glover Tawwab shares in the foreword, this Adverse Childhood Experiences Guided Journal provides a “journey of introspection, self-compassion, and healing,” allowing you to reclaim agency over your story and foster a renewed sense of self. I have read all of Donna Jackson Nakazawa’s published books - each has been a life-changing gift. This journal, most of all. It’s a life-healing experience in book form. Listening to the audiobook has been particularly helpful. I have also read and completed the hard copy form. I highly recommend both formats. The Adverse Childhood Experiences Guided Journal is priceless and accessible to everyone. 5+ stars. I will be gifting this to friends and loved ones.

I bought this book in paperback and immediately realized I would benefit from the Audible version in different ways, so I purchased both. In this Audible version, I love the guided practices set to music and read aloud by the author Matteo Pistono. With the Audible version, I can listen repeatedly. As noted in my Amazon paperback review, this book will change your life if you work it. After trying many other areas of healing (diet, trauma therapy, acupuncture, reiki, etc.), a dear friend and healer shared this book with me. Matteo Pistono provides powerful tools we always have with us - learning how to breathe and how to work with our breathing to balance our nervous system, raise energy levels, rest, and focus. Matteo teaches all of this as you listen to this book. He also sprinkles in interesting stories from his fascinating life and journey. I highly recommend this book in print and audio form! And if you ever have a chance to participate in one of his breathwork events, take it! I had the blessing of doing a 20-minute group session with him as part of this book launch with divine music by Michelle Anise, and my heart rate went to the level of sleeping immediately. So powerful. I will listen, read, re-listen, re-read, and share with others. Thank you so much, Matteo!

I wish I had been given this book at my first symptoms of chronic illness and later autoimmune diseases - which all began 30 years ago. Now, at age 44, my healing journey has divinely led me to this book: “Cured” by Dr. Jeffrey Rediger. “Cured” includes a brilliant distillation of healing methods and modalities. Stories of hope in the midst of terminal illnesses and other serious illnesses. Stories and wisdom that aid the reader in the creation of a personal healing roadmap. I will be gifting this to friends and family - and recommending it to anyone who is struggling with health issues, whether diagnosed or mysterious in nature. What a blessing to all of humanity. I found this book thanks to Dr. Gabor Maté’s recommendation. Both Dr. Rediger and Dr. Maté have given us great gifts of hope, understanding, and healing. Highly recommend and forever thankful for this book.

The MOST important book you can read for Girls

As the mother of a teenage son and a preteen son, I just listened to Girls on the Brink. This book provides adults with a mirror and tools to understand our own childhood/teen trauma and adversity and the challenges that have followed. Further, and more specifically, this book is a must-read for parents - particularly for parents of girls. It's vital reading for anyone who knows girls. Donna Jackson Nakazawa tackles the pressing question: "What is going on with our girls?" She highlights research, studies, and interviews. She probes the question scientifically and personally - interviewing girls, young women, and a wide range of specialists, including scientists, professors, doctors, and more. After painting a vivid and complete picture of the issues facing girls, Donna Jackson Nakazawa devotes the largest portion of her book to fifteen antidotes: fifteen ways we can help and support girls, so they may thrive in these challenging times. In addition, the reader Sarah Mollo-Christenson does a beautiful job reading Girls on the Brink. I can't recommend this book highly enough. I have already purchased 4 printed copies to share with friends, and I'll be purchasing more soon. Thank you to Donna Jackson Nakazawa for writing this compelling, urgent, and life-blessing book.

“The Whole Language" offers messages needed always, and especially needed now.

Gregory Boyle writes and speaks God's loving truth with his every word -
crossing all religions and bringing together the work of so many different people -
from Hafiz to Mr. Rogers.

Like his previous books, Father Greg has us laughing and crying on repeat.
He shares his personal, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes humorous stories,
from his years with our brothers and sisters at Homeboy Industries and in Los Angeles, CA.
Father Greg threads these stories together with our loving God's most loving messages.

Out of all of Father Greg's books, this one is my favorite.
If you read only one book this decade,
make it "The Whole Language" by Gregory Boyle.

I read this book when it was first published, and it changed my life...listening to it narrated by the author tops even that! Coach DKR teaches us how to shift directions, find our dreams, leap out of our comfort zones, and work hard to design and build a life we love. Call An Audible shares a life map and fire we all need. Daron has the calming, strong voice of a preacher and a sage. Hearing this book through his reading will truly bless your life beyond measure. A must-read!
