Historia
Written by a practicing emergency physician, The White Coat Investor is a high-yield manual that specifically deals with the financial issues facing medical students, residents, physicians, dentists, and similar high-income professionals. Doctors are highly-educated and extensively trained at making difficult diagnoses and performing life-saving procedures. However, they receive little to no training in business, personal finance, investing, insurance, taxes, estate planning, and asset protection.

Essential for all docs
Revisado: 12-18-23
Great practical advise that all doctors should at least consider. Most of these principles I’ve been following, and that confirmation is valuable, but the parts on spending less and the extra protection from liability retirement accounts was also useful for me to hear.

Historia
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.

Historia
Prior to World War II, Josephine Baker was a music-hall diva renowned for her singing and dancing, her beauty and sexuality; she was the most highly paid female performer in Europe. When the Nazis seized her adopted city, Paris, she was banned from the stage, along with all "negroes and Jews". Yet, instead of returning to America, she vowed to stay and to fight the Nazi evil. Overnight she went from performer to Resistance spy. In Agent Josephine best-selling author Damien Lewis uncovers this little known history of the famous singer's life.

Wish it had more stories
Revisado: 11-19-22
I think Josephine is an amazing person and deserves recognition, I just wish this had more stories, and could have been better if it just focused on Josephine. I guess I was expecting a biography on her, rather than the story of all the other agents and world war II France spy history. Like other reviews, I think the title is misleading.

Could be better
Revisado: 03-21-21
The narration was good, and the research was interesting, but I was expecting more on how to create your own habits rather than an appreciation for the power of habits. So not very useful. The ethical discussion about a person with night terrors could have been edited out as comparing a person having night terrors and acting out based on a perceived reality vs a gambler losing her inheritance because of habit is eroneous and opinion based. I lost respect for the author after that. Conscious people still have their executive function, and they can still choose their actions. If we believe his argument, then no one can take blame for any of their actions ... and we all have the power to choose.

I really like these narrators and I am always impressed with their consistency as they change their voices with the characters even from book to book. It’s a fun story to listen to.

Parenting advice isn't hard to find. There are thousands of books on the subject, as well as a multitude of websites. Much has also been written on the science of child development. What's been lacking, however, are sources of reliable advice that bring together the scientific research and its real-world applications.

Great research based lectures
Revisado: 08-12-17
I really appreciated the research behind what was shared. Everytime I listen to self help books where research is not described then I am always left with a little doubt. The extra effort Prof Vishton made to summarize the research made all the difference for me.

Needs more research
Revisado: 04-26-16
Interesting idea and would've been more useful if it were the results of a survey. She did have a couple of social experiment results that were interesting/useful. I did not find the list of suggestions of things to do in the morning useful at all. The choppy reading was one of the most annoying things I've ever listened to.
