The Plot Thickens
Revisado: 10-02-24
Just when you think you've come to grips with this series, the tale deepens and its scope broadens. The parallels in this book with our modern way crises is profound. And the narration and entertainment value are both superb! Simply adore this series. Thank you.

Historia
When Minalan the Spellmonger was exiled from his beloved mageland of Sevendor by Prince Tavard, his friend Duke Anguin made him Count Palatine of the Magelaw, a vast realm in the Alshari Wilderlands that Minalan is all too familiar with. After the goblin invasion, the province is devastated, ruined, and peopled almost only by freed slaves. But Minalan has brought his recovering wife and family into exile with him, and he views their impoverished fief as an opportunity to build a new City of Magi in the wilderness.

Historia
Setting out into exile is never much fun, but Minalan wants to publicly comply with Prince Tavard's order to leave Sevendor for three years to spare his home any retribution. Instead of using magic to transport himself to his new lands, Minalan decides to leave cross-country in a wagon with his father. Down the Bontal River, Min and his dad make a stop at Robinwing, get snowed in at Barrowbell, and enjoy a few days as guests of Baron Astyral.

I'm a Terry Mancour and John Lee fan. This book does not disappoint! My absolute favorite story was when Min and his Dad purchase bed linen during a snow storm. I laughed until I cried. Enjoy!

Historia
Minalan gets medieval! When you defeat the invading goblin army, get knighted on the field of battle, gifted with lands and gold, usually your happily-ever-after is...happy. But now that Minalan the Spellmonger has been ennobled and enfiefed, Sire Minalan has a task cut out for him that makes defeating goblins seem like child’s play: Moving his very pregnant bride and a few thousand refugees from Boval Vale into the remote, sparsely peopled Domain of Sevendor. But when he arrives, he finds the land withered from neglect, filled with superstition and suspicion.

Most likable protagonist, easy-going flow, wonderful narrator
Revisado: 03-05-24
This is the most enjoyable series I've listened to in a while. I found it by searching for works by the outstanding narrator, John Lee. The author, Terry Mancour, makes writing seem effortless - one is happy to give oneself over to the world of Sevendor and relax for a while - and Lee brings eloquence and humor through his narration. A dragon brings some drama but mostly it's the genuine likability of the Spellmonger, now Magelord, which fuels the listening pleasure. A wonderful series! Thank you for writing, narrating and producing!!

Historia
The goblin invasion is on...and a wizard's work is never done! After facing a hopeless siege, an implacable foe, and an impossible escape, you would think that Minalan the Spellmonger would be able to rest - but the armies of the undead goblin shaman Shereul (known as the Dead God to his human victims) are rolling over the Western reaches of the rustic Duchy of Alshar and is headed toward the heart of the Duchy of Castal. Thousands are fleeing for their lives as hordes of goblins pour out of Boval Vale and devastate the rugged fiefs of the Alshari Wilderlands.

Historia
The year is 1933. Maisie Dobbs is contacted by an Indian gentleman who has come to England in the hopes of finding out who killed his sister two months ago. Scotland Yard failed to make any arrest in the case, and there is reason to believe they failed to conduct a thorough investigation. The case becomes even more challenging when another Indian woman is murdered just hours before a scheduled interview. Meanwhile, unfinished business from a previous case becomes a distraction, as does a new development in Maisie's personal life.

Revisado: 08-23-23
The themes of this book include human dignity, prejudice, courage, fate, and the fine line between right and wrong - what drives so-called ordinary people to act like wild beasts during a moment of passion or anger? Extremely well-researched and beautifully narrated, this new Vaseem Khan was well worth the wait. Enjoyed every minute
