Historia
Deputy Andrews pulls Nora into the sci-fi section and asks her to help him plan a wedding proposal. His bride-to-be, Hester, loves Little Women, and Nora sets to work arranging a special screening at the town's new movie theater. But right before the deputy pops the question, Nora makes an unsettling discovery—someone has mutilated all her store's copies of The Scarlet Letter, slicing angrily into the pages wherever Hester Prynne's name is mentioned.

I wanted to like the series. The first book was at least visibly worked at, not brilliant, but somewhat steady. But the following books just start falling from promising to be better to compete disappointment. This one is so boring and all over the place that I fall asleep at the culminating moment.

Any wedding is a big deal in the small village of Kilbane - even more so when the bride is a famous fashion model. But finding the original best man murdered in the woods casts a pall over the nuptials. And when a second member of the wedding party is poisoned, Macdara goes from being best man to prime suspect.

Horrible narrator
Revisado: 01-15-20
The story is probably not that bad, unfortunately the narrator made it absolutely awful. The poor thing does not know what punctuation is for, therefore she ignores it completely. It was very difficult to listen to her monotonic voice reading without any emotions. I had to repeat every chapter for 2-3 times just to be able to follow the story line.

story, narrator, just completely bad.
Revisado: 10-06-19
I couldn't finish, it is awful. Narrator is boring, story, even it's short, barely moving forward. I gave up on chapter 10. Mind you, chapters are 3 to 7 minutes long, which does not add any dynamics to the story.

Historia
It's June in Montreal, and Dr. Temperance Brennan, who has left a shaky marriage back home in North Carolina to take on the challenging assignment of Director of Forensic Anthropology for the province of Quebec, looks forward to a relaxing weekend in beautiful Quebec City. First, though, she must stop at a newly uncovered burial site in the heart of the city. The remains are probably old and only of archeological interest, but Tempe must make sure they're not a case for the police. One look at the decomposed and decapitated corpse, stored neatly in plastic bags, tells her she'll spend the weekend in the crime lab.

The story is getting better, but narrator...
Revisado: 08-01-18
The story is getting better with every book. The characters are closer to original. The plot is more believable, although the modern times described in 40s language sound odd.
On the other hand the narrator is getting worse with every book. He is overreacting to the point of grotesque, almost a caricature. For example: the original Archie was elegant and sharp-witted, the narrator's Archie sounds vulgar and plain disrespectful towards his employer; Fritz swiss-german accent became a bad parody on Spanish accent. Majority of dialogs sound overly confrontational to the point being vulgar.
