Historia
Kent Dobson climbed Mount Sinai in search of the God who had eluded him. Instead he got bitten by a camel. Dobson was climbing the ladder of Christianity, too: a worship leader, teacher, and ultimately senior pastor of one of the largest and most prominent churches in America. But he was growing disillusioned with the faith, at least inside the shell of organized religion.

Whaaaaaa?
Revisado: 10-22-19
So...I thought this book started out ok but then it totally derailed and I couldn’t finish. I felt like the description was more about questioning about how churches are run and not about questioning who God is, like he did. What’s in the water over there in Michigan? Sheesh!

Intersting choice of narrator
Revisado: 09-24-18
The stories are very good. I have to be honest, all this time, I only thought a few people survived the collapse, it seems like many more did which was a great feeling.
The narrator's voice was hard to listen to at times and it was so low and grainy there were times I couldn't understand him.
The second half of the book was a lot less exciting than the first.

Revisado: 09-01-18
I feel bad, but I only got to the third chapter of this book and I can't go on. The humor is forced and I'm sure I'm not mature enough to love everyone and that's why I am done with this book. I just can't:(

Historia
The New York Times best-selling biography of an American comedy legend. After three years of sobriety, Chris Farley's life was at its creative peak until a string of professional disappointments chased him back to drugs and alcohol. He fought hard against them, but it was a fight he would lose in December 1997. Farley's fans immediately drew parallels between his death and that of his idol, John Belushi. Without looking deeper, however, many failed to see that Farley was much more than just another Hollywood drug overdose. In this officially authorized oral history, Farley's friends and family remember his work and life.

Left me feeling a little numb...
Revisado: 12-15-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I did like the book, but I think it was a little long. I felt it didn't need to be that long to get the point across.
Any additional comments?
Not that I would do any better, but the woman's voice in the storytelling sounded pretty amateur. When a woman's name was announced, I kind of cringed because I knew she would speak. All the characters she read sounded pretty much the same. This story is just so sad. I watched the last episode of SNL that he hosted the October before he died and you can just see what bad shape he was in. The audience barely laughs because he sounds and looks just horrible. It was painful to watch. This book proves that you need more than to "just go to church" and rehab to overcome these demons. You can't help but blame his father for his demise. Yes, Chris made his choices, but the dad brushed it off as no big deal and then of course, stopped drinking when Chris died. I also thought it was strange how shocked people in the book were to hear that he was dead. I think deep down most of them knew that this is what would happen. I did think that part of the book seemed unrealistic. It was interesting how some described Wisconsin, since this is where I live. Kind of make us all sound like drunks, but I do know that we are at the top of the list when it comes to states with the most alcohol issues.

Very interesting and transparent and crude.
Revisado: 12-09-15
I have to agree with some reviews I read about the end kind of dying off. I really enjoyed the stories and I love the way David delivered them. I know for many the fbomb is a normal part of their language, but for me, I don't care for it from overusing it as a teen. I am a married mom of 3 and felt guilty listening to some parts because of their raunchiness. But being a huge fan of both him and Chris Farley I wanted to finish so I could really hear what life was like during that time knowing that David must really really miss his good friend and how sad it is that this duo is not able to entertain us anymore. I just love when celebrities openly share their heart because it makes them seem more real. I loved this book, just not a fan of the fbomb being used constantly as an adjective or the c word which I hate even more. And I'm sure most of you reading this will call me a prude and
should be done rolling your eyes by the end of this sentence.
