Great road trip story

I loved this story about a young boy who is required by his hard life to take long bus trips across the US. The novel is a series of adventures about life in mid-20th century America. Along the way he learns some hard lessons but makes many firends. I recommend this for anyone who likes feel-good stories that have happy endings.
