Historia
Charley sees dead people. That's right, she sees dead people. And it's her job to convince them to "go into the light." But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e., murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she's been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

A heroine you will love to death!
Revisado: 03-23-19
Being the Grim Reaper is tough, especially for snarky, funny, slightly bawdy Charlie Davidson. I loved everything about this book, from the laugh out loud situations to the oddly touching and poignant moments as well. Darynda Jones is a master of the craft, and her writing is fresh, smart, and amazingly funny.

Riveting and beautiful
Revisado: 05-01-17
This is the first book I've encountered by this incredibly talented author, but it won't be my last. Moving, tragic, and yet still uplighting and, at times, funny, this is a realistic and touching depiction of a family in crisis and a town in terrible danger. Kudos to Kathleen Shoop for giving a voice to the people affected by one of the worst industrial disasters in American history. Like Nurse Rose breathed life into her dying patients, Ms. Shoop brings back the stories of those long forgotten souls who succumbed to the poisonous gas that invaded their town. Fascinating story, and an important read for everyone.

Historia
Jane Carver is nobody's idea of a space princess. A hard-ridin', hard-lovin' biker chick and ex-Airborne Ranger, Jane is as surprised as anyone else when, on the run from the law, she ducks into the wrong cave at the wrong time - and wakes up butt-naked on an exotic alien planet light-years away from everything she's ever known. Waar is a savage world of four-armed tiger-men, sky-pirates, slaves, gladiators, and purple-skinned warriors in thrall to a bloodthirsty code of honor and chivalry.

Fun and entertaining roller coaster of a swashbuckling adventure
Revisado: 12-28-16
I bought this for my son, a fan of the author, but was intrigued enough with the premise to listen to it myself. Once I started I was absolutely hooked. I loved Jane, with her snarky commentary, BA attitude, and heart of gold. The world building was fabulous. This book came as such a delightful surprise that I honestly can't stop talking about it. Now I'm looking forward to reading more by this author. If you'd like a fun, exciting, sci-fi adventure story, I can't recommend this book enough.
