Historia
The most powerful men in the world were all together in a circle in the middle of the room. Drawing their daggers, they cut their right hands and, above the pile of gold, swore Odysseus’ vow: Helen could marry whom she liked, and the Princes would defend them both.… Everyone’s heard of the wooden horse of Troy, and of the beauty of Helen. Well this is the story as Odysseus saw it, from his boyhood in Ithaca to his participation in the bloody Trojan war itself.

Odd sort of update
Revisado: 09-21-18
I love Tony Robinson and wanted to love this.
I didn't hate it, but I thought that given the number of changes and updates he made to the story to make it relatable he might have made Helen's character less shallow. Honestly he depicts her eating in every mention. That's comedy I suppose... I don't think I'll share it with my kids, not a great interpretation of a fantastic story.

Historia
In 1177 B.C., marauding groups known only as the "Sea Peoples" invaded Egypt. The pharaoh’s army and navy managed to defeat them, but the victory so weakened Egypt that it soon slid into decline, as did most of the surrounding civilizations. After centuries of brilliance, the civilized world of the Bronze Age came to an abrupt and cataclysmic end. Kingdoms fell like dominoes over the course of just a few decades. No more Minoans or Mycenaeans. No more Trojans, Hittites, or Babylonians.

Good narration somewhat repetitive text
Revisado: 03-08-18
The book covers an interesting period of the late Bronze Age in the Mediterranean. At times the text seemed to loop around on itself as the writer made his point again and again. The text also had a very formal feel which was fine but different from many of the lectures I’ve been listening to lately on audible.
Narrator was great he got his tongue round an amazing array of names. Give him a raise!
