Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

One of my favorite books now
Revisado: 10-10-24
A.) great novel, flat out
B.) unexpected twists and not something that was predictable (in my opinion) and I usually know right away what’s happening. I didn’t know at all this time
C.) wraps up nicely but not too neatly that it’s unbelievable.
D.) genuinely good story and a fitting ending
E.) I loved the voice acting. It was so easy to listen to.
F.) immediately added more of her books to my library
Loved it!

Not going to give anything away, but *pardon my French* the last line had me audibly gasp the words “oh, shit” with a dark chuckle. Have fun!

The main character is incredible
Revisado: 07-23-24
The best part of the story is the character. Charlie is smart, analytical, and the inner workings of her mind are on display. I like the story, but it pales in comparison to the development of Charlie. Loved the voice acting so much.

George and Kathleen Lutz knew that, one year earlier, Ronald DeFeo had murdered his parents, brothers, and sisters in the house, but the property - complete with boathouse and swimming pool - and the price were too good to pass up. Easy to listen to, no matter how scary it is
Revisado: 06-08-24
The narrator was marvelous. He keeps you locked into the story. Every time I needed to pause I couldn’t wait to press play. The story, while well-known, still grips you and keeps you at the edge of your seat. There was a lot of information I had never heard before. It makes you truly feel for the Lutz family. Definitely worth listening to.
