I loved how the stories made the Bible come to life.

It is a beautiful book that makes these women feel like someone you know. it brings the bible to life. I loved it. I could see myself or someone I know having these very conversations. and it made these amazing women who were just historical figures before, really human and relatable. The lessons become very personal that way.

My first book by Beverly Jenkins

I don't know why I have not read her books before. this was a great one to start with. smart and sexy. the romance scenes were intimate but not over the top perfect blend of emotion and sex.

I also learned so much about the Freed Men I never knew. A new experience from a perspective completely different than my own. it was amazing.

So much fun!

I have known the name Agatha Christie my whole life. This is my first time reading her. I now know what the hype is about. She was an amazingly talented writer. So clever. i enjoyed trying to figure oit the twist, even though i was mostly wrong. lol This book full of short stories was so fun. The performance by Fenella Woolger was on point. I loved the varied accents.

another great book by a great author

I do love this series by Regine Abel. And this one was great too. But it's not my favorite. I am not sure why, but the story seemed flat compared to some of the others in this series. There wasn't enough external conflict, I think. As a person battling a chronic disease, I did appreciate that detention to the character. But I didn't care for the fact that it was the only conflict they faced. To truly represent this community, it would have been better to have an external conflict they faced while dealing with the disease getting in the way. That would have been more representative. But over all, a good book.

As always Seth godin delivers an amazingly inspiring piece of work. I think I could listen to it 10 times and still learn something each time. there is so much information. to truly digest it I had to pause and think about each point after he laid it out. this would be my one famous person to have dinner with ever given the opportunity.

Wonderful Christmas read!

so fun to read about a regency snow storm during a modern snowstorm. very festive and put me right in the Christmas mood. the stories tied together perfectly and had strong characters. I loved them all, and will be seeking more books from these authors.

Not what I expected.

Although I appreciate Mandy sharing her experience with us, it felt like this book was more about surviving a bad relationship than a lifetime of insufficiency. When the book blurb says it's about her entire lifetime of not being enough, that is not really the case. She doesn't share about anything prior to surviving the long dysfunctional relationship. I know my battle with feeling like not being enough began in my childhood. That's not to say she doesn't have something worth sharing, but it is not the story I was expecting. I wanted to know more than about her love life. I also wanted to know some of the specific tools she used to grow, other than chanting you are enough. Quite frankly that is not enough for someone suffering from depression and lack of self-worth to help them out of it. I agree with other reviewers, this book is more of a memoir.
