Writing is outstanding
Revisado: 10-14-24
Even though some of the subject matter was dark at times, the writing was captivating, almost beautiful as it pulled me into the story. I’ve never read anything by the author, but I’m an instant fan.
There was one part of the plot that I felt was quite cliche, but other than that, it was such a good story with good characters.
I also loved the narrator.

This is a wonderful performance by the entire cast. I loved the way worked together, the sound effects, etc. I couldn’t stop listening until the end. I loved it, I want more by this cast.

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

Slow start, amazing story!
Revisado: 09-23-23
I almost gave up on this book because I felt like it had a slow, somewhat boring beginning. I’m so glad I stuck it out!
Suddenly, just when I was about to give up, this crazy twist I never saw coming smacked me in the face. 3 or 4 crazy twists later, I couldn’t stop listening and I got really angry because people were texting me while I was listening. Like they should have know better.
Seriously good book.

Historia
This story picks up exactly where book one left off. The Talbot family is evacuating their home amid a zombie apocalypse. Mankind is on the edge of extinction as a new dominant, mindless opponent scours in search of food, which happens to be non-infected humans. In this book are the journal entries of Michael Talbot, his wife, Tracy, and their kids, Nicole, Justin, and Travis. With them are Brendon, Nicole's fiancee, and Tommy, previously a Wal-Mart door greeter who may be more than he seems.

Decent story, fun. Incredibly sexist.
Revisado: 08-09-23
I was looking for a fun zombie series when I started this series. The first book was so funny, I was immediately hooked, the narrator was great, and the fast pace was exactly what I was looking for. That the author created every female character as basically incapable, dumb, whining, and obnoxious says a lot about his personal thoughts on women but I was willing to over look that in the first book.
In the second book, his wife is so stupid and inept that I have to think the author actually hates women.
I can’t support him by going on. Even though I do love Tommy and the rest of the gang.
Though, zombie vampires? Really?
