Historia
In March 2006, the world’s richest men sipped champagne in an opulent New York hotel. They were preparing to compete in a poker tournament with million-dollar stakes. At the card table that night was Peter Muller, who managed a fabulously successful hedge fund called PDT. With him was Ken Griffin, who was the tough-as-nails head of Citadel Investment Group. There, too, were Cliff Asness, the sharp-tongued, mercurial founder of the hedge fund AQR Capital Management, and Boaz Weinstein, chess “life master” and king of the credit-default swap.

Wow! Exciting!
Revisado: 12-22-13
Would you listen to The Quants again? Why?
Wow this is an exciting story, i didn't expect such a thrilling ride through a topic as bland as...maths lol. The rollercoaster of emotions of billions of $ being made and lost is breathtaking.
What does Mike Chamberlain bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The timing and emphasis is great and really adds to the excitement, making the story easier to understand and appreciate.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Always on the edge of my seat, every chapter develops and progresses.
Any additional comments?
I originally got this because i was interested in how qants could be applied to stock trading, the story is quite light and helped me appreciate it more. I also learned a lot about how the GFC happened because of some smart people...who got outsmarted by the formulas they created.

Historia
In this lecture, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer and Deepak Chopra, M.D., tell you how you can create anything you desire, if you really, really, really, really want it.
By following four simple steps, Dr. Dyer teaches you how to reduce the time from when you decide what you want in your mind to when it actually manifests. As Dr. Dyer says, "What you think about expands, so think about what you want, not about what you don't want."

Entertaining with gems of wisdom
Revisado: 08-14-11
Light hearted conversation with live audience. It's deep at times, a bit slow for my personal liking, but worth it for some great gems of wisdom. Good for bedtime listening.

Thought provoking but longer than needed
Revisado: 01-27-11
This book is a paradigm shift in biology science presented to the masses. So obviously the scientific evidence is NOT going to be university level as in a research paper, nor would i want it to be. It's purely for edutainment purposes and not for serious academic peer review. What it does do well is present some new views and concepts on how the body and mind work as one. Something that many cultures have believed for centuries. It's only science that chooses to split these up and ignore what it can't measure through experiments. 3 stars because it's much longer than it needs to be. For a casual listener the abridged version "The Biology of Belief" suffices to cover all the key points.

Flash of inspiration
Revisado: 01-27-11
Listening to this audiobook is like one of those AHA! moments. It's where science and common sense meet and you think "isn't that obvious?" in hindsight.
A paradigm shift in the way we look at DNA, proteins, thoughts, and they way our bodies work. To summarize the book quickly, i'd say "You are not your DNA. Your DNA does not determine your destiny." And this is the proof we've been seeking.
If you really want to delve in to this topic and take the scenic route then get the unabridged version "The Wisdom of Your Cells: How Your Beliefs Control Your Biology". Or if you're short on time then this is the rush hour version to listen to.
