Historia
Gary Thomas, pastor and best-selling author of Sacred Marriage, believes that one simple word can bring hope, light, and life into any marriage: Cherish. Most marriages survive by gritting teeth and holding on. But what if surviving marriage wasn't the goal? What if we aimed to thrive instead? In Cherish, Thomas teaches us that although there are a countless number of marriages consisting of two people just going through the motions, there are real ways this pattern can be reversed.

Every husband needs to read this book

Not a great perspective setter.
Revisado: 04-25-20
After reading several of Gary Thomas' audio books and wanting to transform my marriage, this last read sent me into a hopeless spiral of despair. What Gary essentially says is if you spend your entire life loving your spouse, you MIGHT get a good end-of-life partner. But if you don't, God is good, so suck it up and live off of that.
I grew up in an abusive home. My husband doesn't abuse me, he stays faithful, and he brings home a check. Our boys are clothed, fed, loved, and brought up in faith. But I have been waiting to be deeply loved by another human my entire life, and I just may never have that. Gary says it's okay. That God is enough. God may be enough, but my hurt and the impact on my kids, and the resulting depression from this has not been fruitful. There have to be better options for Grace and support out there than Gary's pitch here.

Historia
In For Married Women Only, pastor and author Tony Evans explores these three principles in a straight-forward yet encouraging manner. He unpacks the touchy topic of submission and lays out the rewards inherent in this biblical model. On seduction, Evans looks at the quality of attractiveness and how embodying it can be pleasing to your spouse and to God. And with surrender, readers will examine why a wife is the perfect helpmate for her husband and how to combat attitudes opposed to God's design.

Too dramatic of a reader for my taste.
Revisado: 05-23-19
The content was good but the reader was to dramatic for my taste. Practical books need less flare.
