Historia
Thomas Merton, toward the end of his life, warned of a "pervasive form of contemporary violence" that is unique to our times: overwork and overactivity. In his work as a minister and caregiver, Wayne Muller observed the effects of this violence on our communities, our families, and our people. He responds to this escalating "war on our spirits" in this audio guide, and immerses listeners in the sacred tradition of the shabbat - the day of rest - a tradition that is all but forgotten in an age where consumption, speed, and productivity have become the most valued human commodities. He offers practices and exercises that reflect the sabbath as recognized in Christianity, Judaism, and Buddhism. Through his way of nourishment and repose, Muller teaches, we welcome insights and blessings and arise only with stillness and time.

Bro gets it wrong, believers are the "Queen" not..
Revisado: 04-05-25
The beginning is great but bro get's it all wrong, The Sabbath is not the queen believers are the "Queen" and the Sabbath Bride. Then he does as unbelievers do and tells fables and stories based on men's futile imagination. It is the body of Messiah that is the bride, not the Sabbath which Heschel calls "The Bride." Of course this just exposes the arrogance of those who have no real genuine faith in Adonai (they neither believe Him or read the scriptures with understanding) but love and embrace the traditions of men.

Historia
Why don't Christians in the church today keep the biblical sabbath? Was the observance of the seventh-day sabbath done away with, canceled, changed, replaced, fulfilled, made obsolete, suppressed, hijacked, or simply forgotten? Even if you already know the answers, you'll want to listen to this book. From Sabbath to Sabbath approaches the question of the sabbath from a completely new messianic Jewish perspective.

A Man Centered Book glorifying men..
Revisado: 09-16-24
Seriously, this is such a man-centered book that completely leaves out the holiness of the Almghty God the one who blessed the 7th day and made it holy in exchange for another idol called the "angel of the sabbath" and how it glorifies man.
Listen to it with ears of discernment.

Bro, I find it was extremely difficult listening to you. It's your voice and very annoying inflections and intonations.

Also, you strike me as someone who has knowledge but not nearly as much the reality of the things you with your annoying voice confidently assert. Does that sound familiar? When you speak, in who's presence are you in. Men or God speaking as the oracle of God?

Historia
If God has spoken, then the highest human aspiration must be to hear what the Creator has said. God has indeed spoken, through the Ten Commandments, and Al Mohler explores this revelation of God and the implications for His people. The promise is to hear, to obey, and to live. These "Ten Words" tell us who God is and what His people should look like.

Author is utterly ignorant. Purposely ignorant perhaps being seduced by doctrines of demons and thinking like a Gentile.
Revisado: 12-04-23
Author is utterly ignorant of the 4th Commandment being honored throughout history and many nations and peoples. Purposely ignorant perhaps being seduced by doctrines of demons and thinking like a Gentile. Scripture is clear, the Fourth Cimmandment to honor the Sabbath is forever (Isaiah 66).

Discover the unbreakable unity of the Holy Scriptures and be free from the cognitive dissonance that plagues modern believers. Discover the encrypted code that runs all through the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, the connection between the Old Testament Law and the New Covenant, the difference between legalism and lawfulness, and the Scriptural way of loving God. Apologia for the Law and the Sabbath is an audacious and in-your-faith way of looking at the Bible that causes the heart to burn with passion.

Absurdly complicated and unnecessarily so!
Revisado: 09-16-23
The Sabbath i.e., the 4th Commandment is indeed forever however, this author like most authors apparently wants to appear intellectual and make what is simple so very complicated unnecessarily. The bible is clear that the law of God written in our hearts and in our minds is the Ten Commandments and that believers are saved from the curse and penalty of the law which is death. But no, this author goes on and on in unnecessary convoluted arguments and explanations.
