Good addition to the series and a brilliant narrator. Not sure anyone else could make DC sound well ….so much like DC. I hope there are more

Great story narration not so much

Really great story with lots of twists and addressed a disturbing but important topic. The narrator however just about did it for me he has the most bizarre cadence to his voice and accents are terrible. his Yorkshire accent in particular

The narrator was the highlight
Revisado: 03-02-24
Narrator as always was brilliant. Story just didn’t grab me. Very peace meal and just didn’t flow. Characters were a little flat and not fleshed out or maybe it is just that it tried to follow too many so everything vague. Not one of my favorites

Good story but the narration not so much
Revisado: 10-08-23
The story was good and I thought I had another series by this author to get into. It was all I could do to finish it as the narrator was, in my opinion very difficult to listen to. It wasn’t as noticeable when the characters were actually speaking, but you can hear every breath he takes and also there’s a odd unnatural cadence to his voice when he is just speaking, not as a character, but merely narrating the text. It has a funny breath quality like it’s supposed to be suspenseful when the content isn’t suspenseful at that moment at all. Difficult to describe, but I barely made it through it and won’t be listening to anymore books by this narrator.

Not only a great mystery but the characters and the character development is brilliant. I absolutely laughed out loud on a great number of occasions while listening. Their conversations are brilliant and all perfectly enhanced by the amazing narration! Well done yet again!

Historia
From the outside, Glenfarach looks like a quaint, sleepy village, nestled in the heart of Cairngorms National Park, but things aren't what they seem. The place is thick with security cameras, and there's a strict nine o'clock curfew, because Glenfarach is the last safe haven for people who've served their sentences but can't be safely released into the general population. For Detective Constable Edward Reekie, this was supposed to be a simple delivery job—drive his new boss up to HMP Grampian and collect Marky Bishop, take him to Glenfarach, then head back home again.

Story good but not the narration

Story was good and I had listened to all of the others already in the series but that was with a different narrator If I had started with this narrator it would have been the only one and I would have quit. Barely tolerable narration

What an amazing book. Astonishingly complex plot and I am in awe of the mind that comes up with this. Great characters and like most who read this series I to want to move to 3 Pines. The narration is the cream on top of a wonderful read.
