Historia
Mark Twight is a BANFF award-winner, an extreme climber, an extreme writer, and an extreme personality. No matter what he's doing, Mark Twight takes a definite, and often controversial , stand. Anyone who knows climbing knows Twight's name, and anyone who knows Twight's name will want to listen to this audiobook. Each story is told in Twight's taut, in-your-face style. Brand-new epilogues bring each piece full circle, providing updated information and fresh, hindsight perspectives.

Great content overshadowed
Revisado: 08-20-24
There are incredible stories to be told from the author. Unfortunately, his low EQ condescension of anything but himself makes it difficult to enjoy. He’s the ‘cynical and proud’ type and ticks about every stereotype of that personality.

Historia

Yet, Colin O’Brady was determined to do just that, even if, 10 years earlier, there was doubt that he’d ever walk again normally. From the depths of a tragic accident, he fought his way back. In a quest to unlock his potential and discover what was possible, he went on to set three mountaineering world records before turning to this historic Antarctic challenge.

Not a truthful account
Revisado: 02-03-24
I would suggest people reference the National Geographic article about Colin’s Antarctic crossing. At best, one could call his account exaggerated.

Some great content
Revisado: 06-19-18
These books have some great content and I learn a few new concepts each time I read one. I certainly recommend them from that standpoint. There are some misogynistic tones that can be tough to overlook and the narrator impersonating women for performance sake is nearly comical. Takes away from otherwise good content.

Best-selling author Peter Sims found that all of them have achieved breakthrough results by methodically taking small, experimental steps in order to discover and develop new ideas.

Generic

Unfortunately, this is a rather generic read - citing the successes the Bezos and Jobs like far too many books do when content is not compelling. It also summarizes other works many have read, such as Creative INC. I'd recommend just buying that book instead.

Historia
Every day we work hard to motivate ourselves, the people we live with, the people who work for and do business with us. In this way much of what we do can be defined as being motivators. From the boardroom to the living room, our role as motivators is complex, and the more we try to motivate partners and children, friends and coworkers, the clearer it becomes that the story of motivation is far more intricate and fascinating than we've assumed.

Love Dan Ariely, book was mostly a review
Revisado: 01-14-17
I read all of Dan Ariely's books and really enjoy the content. This was great information, but mostly the same as already covered in previous books.
The reader is fantastic, by the way.

Historia
Why do some products capture our attention, while others flop? What makes us engage with certain products out of habit? Is there a pattern underlying how technologies hook us? This audiobook introduces listeners to the "Hooked Model", a four-step process companies use to build customer habits. Through consecutive cycles through the hook, successful products reach their ultimate goal of bringing users back repeatedly - without depending on costly advertising or aggressive messaging.

Not Recommended
Revisado: 12-08-16
This book presents a basic model for how to influence habit formation. You could google the hook model, read for about 1 minute, and be caught up. I would recommend continuing your search and not purchasing this one. It didn't help that the reader's tempo was odd and detracting.

Don't listen to this

This book contains terrible advice for handling the market. It essentially tells you to buy perceived undervalued stocks and sell after a three percent gain. You would be better off playing craps.

Historia
Maximizing the trader's state of mind is the key to successful results. Conflicts, contradictions, and paradoxes in thinking can spell disaster for even a highly motivated, astute and well-grounded trader. Mark Douglas, an industry consultant since 1982, sends the message that a "thinking strategy" will profoundly influence a trader's success rate. Douglas addresses five very specific issues to give traders the insight and understanding about themselves that will make them consistent winners in the market.

This is more of a psychological read. Very focused on accountability and the mindset required for trading and other things. I found it useful. Pretty redundant in some places.

This concise audiobook is based on Mr. Drucker's summary of The Effective Executive done at the request of Harvard Business Review and is now one of their best selling published works. This article is a perfect way to learn about the subject broadly in a short period of time. Unlike many articles of this kind, summarizing a book's contents, this article was written and crafted by the author himself.
