Pretty good
Revisado: 10-07-23
I like Letty as a character. This series is more action novel than mystery like the ones she came from, making the stories more far fetched. But if you can go in with that as understood, they are fun reads.

Historia
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Fun story, weird narration.
Revisado: 10-08-22
An urban fantasy story in the line of Dresden, etc., the with a far less accomplished main character. interesting story, interesting main character, thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll be happy to continue listening if there is another, which it seems like there will likely be.
Only downside was the narration, which was strange. Some of the narrator's voices were fine, and interesting. Great for the character and worked well. But The main character sounded like it was an automatic reading via robot. it was very stilted, and weird. until additional characters were added, I honestly thought that perhaps this was some sort of automatic reading. it was distracting, and took away from the enjoyment a bit. not enough to keep me from listening to the next if they use the same reader, but disappointing.

Historia
Some say that to change the world you must first burn it down. Now that belief will be tested in the crucible of revolution: The Breakers and Burners have seized the levers of power, the smoke of riots has replaced the smog of industry, and all must submit to the wisdom of crowds. With nothing left to lose, Citizen Brock is determined to become a new hero for the new age, while Citizeness Savine must turn her talents from profit to survival before she can claw her way to redemption.

Every book in this series gets better
Revisado: 02-28-22
Huge fan of Abercrombie's books but found the first book of the series a little difficult with the time shift and steampunkesque feel at times. But the characters have grown and the story evolved beautifully getting better and better. This last book has me really eager for the next, just like with his old series. Excellent.

In the absolutely packed Act II, the dark fantasy resumes and the Sandman expands into the French Revolution, ancient Rome, 19th-century San Francisco, eighth-century Baghdad, and beyond. New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter.

Great story, nice follow-up to act I.
Revisado: 02-20-22
Excellent performances abound in this whole series. I hope these audible originals continue at this level! The stories are similar to those in Act I, dark and entertaining. But, perhaps not as gripping. I don't know for sure if it is that some of the stories are a bit weaker or it is less novel by Act II, but it was a noticeable difference to me. Still fun, still great readers.

A riveting saga in the history of rock ‘n’ roll: the decades-long rivalry between the two men who innovated the electric guitar’s amplified sound - Leo Fender and Les Paul - and their intense competition to convince rock stars like the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton to play the instruments they built.

Historia
An off-duty Coast Guardsman is fishing with his family when he calls in some suspicious behavior from a nearby boat. It's a snazzy craft, slick and outfitted with extra horsepower, and is zipping along until it slows to pick up a surfaced diver...a diver who was apparently alone, without his own boat, in the middle of the ocean. None of it makes sense unless there's something hinky going on, and his hunch is proved right when all three Guardsmen who come out to investigate are shot and killed.
