Historia
Dawn Conners’s parents are famous for finding historic treasures, but she has a knack for losing things - her job, her boyfriend, and now, her reputation. Thanks to a mud-slinging exposé, Dawn’s late great-grandfather is assumed guilty of stealing silver from a century-old shipwreck. Hoping to clear his name, Dawn returns to Starlight Cove, her idyllic hometown on Lake Michigan, where the doomed vessel sleeps beneath the beam of a ramshackle lighthouse.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
i don't know
Has The Lighthouse Keeper turned you off from other books in this genre?
no
Would you be willing to try another one of Kate Rudd’s performances?
probably not
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
annoyance
Any additional comments?
I rarely rate books, but here goes. This wasn't horrible, but definitely not worth a credit. It kept me awake in my car, that's about it. Mainly by annoying me. The narration was annoying; stilted and unnatural pronunciation of words constantly, and a terrible male voice.
Then the story and dialogue was unbelievable in many, many aspects. I kept saying to myself "that would never happen, or no one talks like that, or no one would do that" And yet, if written differently, it could have been very entertaining.

Where do I begin ....?
Revisado: 09-17-17
Ok, I've never submitted a review until now, but I thought I should, in hopes that the author and narrator will learn from it for future books.
First, the narrator began horribly, and only improved somewhat over the course of the book. I almost stopped as soon as I started. She had an annoying sing song quality to her voice
And a habit of accentuating the end syllable of each word and also drawing it out. Agonizing.
But wait, it gets worse. The start started out ok, I personally love a good murder mystery now and then. But the characters actions and dialogue were so unrealistic and the plot, although it had potential, was very flawed. I won't go into detail, but the main character wasn't even believable as a police detective. I could go in but in summary i feel The editor did not do his or her job- it should have had a total re-write. The setting in San Francisco saved me from stopping mid book, but I did return it, which I rarely do.

Poor narration
Revisado: 01-02-16
The subject matter was interesting for sure, however the story was a bit convoluted and didn't flow. More importantly, the narration was horrible, and I never feel that way. Mispronounced words, and overall unnatural diction.
