Didn't like the style of the ending

I have devoured ALL of this series this far & am beyond antsy for the next two installments to be released. The voice talent is incredible! My only point of grump, is in how this book ends. I was SO confused. When something significant happens, I like details right then. The style in which a pivotal event was explained, had me reeling, rewinding because I thought I missed something, then just having a confused look in my face. It felt like it was essentially just skimmed over, which was deflating. Still love these books & can't wait for the next.

I got sucked in!

I have to be honest, the range of voices was amazing. I became invested in every one of them. I actually had to catch myself multiple times. Anyway, I loved all of the stories, but found myself hating Peaches. Literally getting disappointed, frustrated, shocked, etc. to the point I had to take a break. That character was so completely unapologetic, self-absorbed, self-centered, selfish & every other oblivious, self-involved descriptor, I have ever encountered, so WELL-DONE to the author! I was all over the place with who I wanted her to end up with, if she even deserved to end up with anyone. I laughed out loud, got choked up & really got pulled right into & onto Baker Street. In the end, I can't lie, I wanted even more.

Kept me laughing

I have listened to multiple box sets by Jesse Gussman & this was my favorite, so far. It was more relatable & less rigid regarding faith. I enjoyed the other box sets, but I definitely found some of the points at odds with my values & beliefs. The Cherry Tree ladies had me snickering along with their antics. Great listen!

Didn't see it coming!

I loved this story! The narrator's range was amazing & the southern drawl fantastic. I was invested & heartbroken, impressed & dumbfounded. I do have to say there were some character mentalities I struggled with, making me check the release date, but having family in the South, I unfortunately realized those mentalities just don't end.

Slow start, but still hooked me

I gobbled up the first three books, in this series, but this one started slower, for me, with a little bit of struggle. That being said, it still hooked me after the first few chapters & away I was swept! Loved the story, twists & turns, so relevant & real. There were at least two more sets of players, I was invested in & wanted to see through to fruition. The epilogue definitely left me wanting a series continuation, of at least two more books, so I will remain hopeful the River Rain series continues.

I didn't want it to end!

Love! This trilogy is ALL about it, in ALL of its many facets. This volume really pulled on my heartstrings for several reasons. I was really pulling for Ryder to find his match & I got so much more. The underlying story of Lizzie & Billy was so sweet & carried through the trilogy, in such a romantic way. I wish the Inn BoonsBoro was a real place! I would book a room. I don't know what category to put these books I have happened upon lately, definitely romance, but with a lovely weaving of the fantastical. I find myself wanting to "check-in" on the characters. Beautiful escape from all the chaos of our world these days!

Another great love story!

Loved the 2nd installment of the Inn BoonsBoro trilogy! Good stuff! My only listener recommendation is to speed up the narration rate. Love the narrator's voice & character range, but the meter of narration seems very slow. I listened at 1.6x speed & it seemed pretty good. My only criticism would be the inconsistency in the brother's voices from the 1st to the 2nd book. Owen, the middle brother seemed to have a lighter voice in the 1st book, but in the 2nd it seemed to switch tone with the younger brother Beckett. Maybe it was intentional, to intensify the draw to the main male character. Not sure & not a big deal, just an observation.

Sweet, hot & cute!

Ok, I am giving all 5 stars because I really did enjoy the story, chemistry of characters, strength in the characters & variety in subjects. I also really enjoyed the narrator's voice, range of tones & pace......when I sped up my app to 1.6x. I did see other reviews about the pace of narration, but I usually listen at 1.3x, so I figured I was good. I didn't even try it at 1.0x, since 1.3x was still too slow for my preference. Other than the speed, I loved it!

I struggled at first

I kept getting mad at the female character not saying what was on her mind. In general, that really irks me & I feel is a large reason there are so many communication issues these days. People assume the other person just gets it. By the end of the book I found myself feeling like she didn't deserve to fix things, but I am a sucker for a good ending.
