Historia
Amy Black, a queer single mother and an aspiring artist in love with calligraphy, dreams of a coveted artist’s residency at the world’s largest social media company, Q. One ink-black October night, when the power is out in the hills of Oakland, California, a stranger asks Amy to transcribe a love letter for him. When the stranger suddenly disappears, Amy’s search for the letter’s recipient leads her straight to Q and the most beautiful illuminated manuscript she has ever seen, the Codex Argentus.

Intriguting Story, Well Narrated
Revisado: 06-12-24
I really enjoyed this story. Zaid draws us into the story and characters quickly, and the narrator makes us want to stay. Amy was an interesting character with an intriguing storyline. What I love most about the audiobook is that the narrator became part of the story, not separate from it. Sometimes narrators distract from the story with over performance. Not this one! She brought us into Amy's world and made us feel as if we were right this with her. Great listen!

Five women from Between Friends Book Club collaborated and wrote Novel Women. It is a fictional story about acceptance, friendship, and love with just the right amount of sex. When middle age hits - it hits hard. Marriages fall apart, children leave for college, and jobs disappear. The six women of Novel Women stand at this crossroad in their lives when their beloved book club goes on hiatus for the summer.

Fun listen!
Revisado: 03-17-21
This book is a fun listen! I love that the narrator was able to differentiate among the many characters. It definitely helped as I was listening and not reading, making it harder to go back and remember who is who. The story is about one summer in the lives of middle-aged women, with each of the women discovering something new about herself after going through life changes. Definitely an enjoyable light read (or listen).
