I love the paperback version. Hate the audio book.

The Chtorr series is one of my all time favourite series. I've read the paperback books way too many times.
Sadly, in my opinion, the audio book production is just so bad that I cannot get past the first few pages despite numerous attempts. I could probably live with the narrator ( I am not familiar with him) but the audio quality makes me think it was recorded over a tin can telephone with static playing in the background.
Oh, what would I give to have them re-record the four books in the series with a better narrator with modern sound quality.
I suggest Luke Daniels, Ray Porter, or MacLeod Andrews for narrator - they never fail to deliver believable characters.
But, really, the failure is with the audio quality. Insert sad face here... :(

Despite what you think...

This is not a book for young kids. Every second word is a swear word or other phrase you don’t want your 10 year old saying. I exaggerate but not by much in some chapters. I downloaded it thinking it would be good for my young son based on the story - but after listening to it first I would not let him listen until he is 18.

It proves to me that Luke Daniels is still the best! The rest are good but Luke still beats the rest hands down. Luke = five stars.

Where does Fear the Sky rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very high up. R. C. Bray was perfect for the role(s).

Can't wait for book two once it's available. Book three is available for pre-order as of now, but it will have to wait until I hear book two once its out and on Audible.

Another good 'read' in the series.

Not sure why the narrator chose to use an 'old' voice for young Tris Drake and a 'young' voice for mature, war worn, battle hardened Lord Jonmarc Vahanian. Still they're books that grow on you.
