If you could sum up A Summer Down Under in three words, what would they be?

Sweet, interesting, realistic

What did you like best about this story?

Loved how this author explores a setting unfamiliar to me (a sheep station in Australia) as she plops her young and inexperienced heroine in the thick of it. Her character, Sam (short for Samantha) is a mixture of clumsiness and fire as she bumbles about in unfamiliar territory but isn't afraid to fight for the right causes. So I guess the humor in the situation was my favorite aspect of the story.

Have you listened to any of Sherill Turner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I will look for her again. LOVED her voice and was especially happy with her portrayal of Daniel.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but I couldn't.

Any additional comments?

I was so shocked by but relieved with the ending! The book kept me guessing until the very end!

If you could sum up The Emerald Staff in three words, what would they be?

I truly enjoyed watching Faedra discover more about herself and her powers as she goes on a quest to save her dad and is forced to face a few unsavory characters along the way. One rather savory character adds a new dynamic to the story and creates some tension between Faedra and Faen as their love for one another is somewhat tested. I highly recommend Pensy's The Emerald Staff and look forward to the next installment.

What other book might you compare The Emerald Staff to and why?

The Emerald Staff is like Harry Potter, because Faedra, like Harry, is unaware of her origins and powers until she reaches a certain age, and then the fate of her world depends on her.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene is the one in which Etyran holds Faedra's hands above her head and forces her to kiss him!

Would you listen to The Amulet again? Why?

Yes! It was such a pleasure!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Faen. He's both sexy and honorable.

What does Martha Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Loved her British accent!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes!

Any additional comments?

This modern fairy story by Alison Pensy is adorable! Faedra Bennett, who lives with her father in an English cottage, discovers something life-changing about herself on her eighteenth birthday, including the fact that her best friend--a dog that arrived during her mother's wake eleven years ago--is not an ordinary dog! He's her shape-shifting guardian, Faen. And yes, he's sexy, strong, and honorable and already knows Faedra inside and out by the time he reveals himself to her. Now it's her turn to get to know him and her new role as custodian to an important object that is the key to saving her world and Faen's.

I loved every minute of it and can't wait to read the next book in the series!
