Historia
The first message is found in a playground. A few feet away, a pair of human ears hang from the monkey bars. Deputy sheriff Brynn Callahan isn’t sure what to make of this grisly scene. Do the ears belong to a murder victim? And if so, where is the body? One thing Brynn is sure of: the earring on one of the earlobes belongs to a man she met at a party the previous night. The second message is discovered next to a human tongue on a park pavilion. Once again, no body is found. Brynn can’t help but wonder if the crimes are rooted in the town’s long-simmering tensions.

Historia
As one of the most beautiful and intriguing birds found in nature, hummingbirds fascinate people around the world. The lightest birds in the sky, hummingbirds are capable of incredible feats, such as flying backwards, diving at speeds of 61 MPH, and beating their wings more than 60 times a second. Miraculous creatures, they are also incredibly vulnerable when they first emerge from their eggs. That’s where Brenda Sherburn comes in. With tenderness and patience, she rescues abandoned hummingbirds and nurses them back to health until they can fly away and live in the wild.

The Catchy Title - Watch Out!
Revisado: 08-14-11
This books title might throw you off base thinking, as I did, that you would get some historical information about Napoleon's army and the loss to the Russians. What you will get is approximately 10 minutes near the end of the book and that is it. Otherwise the book is a disease lovers delight giving information about the multitude of organisms, insects, protozoa and other disease bearing vectors. In a way it is interesting; yet, written like a text book listing the carrier by genus and species then detailing the: country of origin, disease and the havoc this particular disease causes humans. Other information includes details about cousins of the original offender and their blights - if any.

Historia
When Autobiography of a Yogi first appeared in 1946, it was acclaimed as a landmark work in its field. The New York Times hailed it as "a rare account". Newsweek pronounced it "fascinating". The San Francisco Chronicle declared, "Yogananda presents a convincing case for yoga, and those who 'came to scoff' may remain 'to pray." Today it is still one of the most widely read and respected books ever published on the wisdom of the East.

A spiritural delight
Revisado: 01-11-11
An excellent book that blends the life and times of a Yogi with his spirituality. This book is filled with information about the cross over between the various religions of the Earth's people and how these religions all have a deep seated link. A wonderful look that explains the concept of one with the Universe in straight forward terms that are easy to follow. Included in his dialog is why this is so. Finally, a great deal of historical information spanning 70 years of a truly unique and great teacher is included to help the reader follow the life and times of Paramahansa Yogananda..

The many spooks
Revisado: 10-17-07
There are multiple characters and scenarios going on in the start of this book. At first it is a bit difficult to discern all the weird happenings and there relationship to each other. Yet, the author slowly brings all of the characters closer and closer together until they all meet, in a way near the end. If anything the end is kind of anticlimactic considering the trouble the author goes to to weave his sterling web.

Historia
When CIA "fixer" Micah Dalton's friend and mentor turns up dead, he's put on a collision course with a killer who has a penchant for intricate knife-work and Native American mysticism, a sadist who is killing ex-CIA agents. The victims are hard-nosed field men whose only link to one another seems to be a global surveillance operation called Echelon. The murders appear to be acts of retribution. But for what?

From A to Z and back again
Revisado: 10-03-07
This is an excellent listen. The author has an interesting style of twisting the theme through out the novel. The main character is good and believable. All of the other characters are also realistic and have you rooting or booing them depending on their nature. Situations are realistically depicted and described. Geographical descriptions take you there and have you believing you are there. As a reader you are kept guessing for about half way through the work. At this point you begin to make sense but still have no idea as to who the "killer" or "killers" are. You just know we have a "lead." I enjoyed the quick pace of the novel and the finish which tied it all together. The end even has a romantic flair to it if that is your cup of tea.
